Cage finally painted Reply #19 – November 21, 2005, 11:39:18 PM Looks sweet Chuck.Obviously you arent going to have a back seat, what are your plans for taking up that space? Thanks, Chris Quote Selected
Cage finally painted Reply #20 – November 21, 2005, 11:49:16 PM Chris-No real plans for it other than ditching the seat. I'm going to use some ABS plastic covered with carpet to cover the bulkhead between the cabin and the trunk. Don't need to add any more weight back there. Not gonna do much with the seat area other than possibly mounting the small battery in the spot behind the pass seat (I may mount it down lower instead). Cage finally painted Reply #21 – November 22, 2005, 12:53:00 PM Nice cage. Painting it the same color as the car looks good. Kind of brings the outside in. Excellent work. Quote Selected
Cage finally painted Reply #22 – November 22, 2005, 02:17:46 PM Or does it bring the inside OUT?? Quote Selected
Cage finally painted Reply #23 – November 22, 2005, 08:56:39 PM Chuck Instead of ABS plastic have you thought about that thin wood at Home Depot? You know the stuff that is kinda rough on one side and very smooth on the other side? Might be cheper then the ABS also and just as easy to work with. Chris Quote Selected
Cage finally painted Reply #24 – November 22, 2005, 09:04:19 PM I can get a 1/16" sheet of 4x8' black ABS for under $20, and that's going to be a hell of alot easier (flexible) to work with than wood. I'm going to have to make holes and then slit it to be able to slide it up into place around the bars.I have one sheet I'm going to use to replace the headline backer in the Z-7 with since it's a bit damaged and I may have enough left over to do what I need with this. Cage finally painted Reply #27 – November 22, 2005, 09:32:06 PM Look in the phone book under plastics suppliers. I found a place about 10 mins from my house that sells it. I need to go back and pick up another sheet or two here soon. Quote Selected
