I've got about $500 in my TC rearend (includes switching everything to rear discs), I think the wheels and tires were like $900, suspension parts I probably have about $400. I also have '92 GT front brakes w/lincoln calipers sitting on the parts shelf. I also have probably $300 in speakers/ radio I'm kinda at a stalemate because I have the suspension pretty much done...so now its time to spend the big money on tranny/motor (which will probably be awhile).

i had 1300 in mine when i let her go. including the 650 for the car.

I think we all are curious, but don't really want to know what eric put into his... :)

Black car,
$110 for the car
$200 for exhaust
$100 for the timing to get fixed/tuneup
/$60 for junk yard tires
$40 for tc hood
$40 for two "new" doors(that dont even match)
$20 on rattle cans
$15 for a new drivers seat(also dosent match)
$15ish for a FPR
parts that havent been installed yet
$60 e7's
$40 h-o intake manifold
$50 for new egr
$20 mustang headers

So thats $750 on a $110 car

v-6 car
$550 for the car
$180ish for new exhaust
$90(?) for newbrakes/new brake lines
$15 for water pump
$10 for timing chain cover
$10 in gaskets and gasket sealent

$855. Didnt think it was anywhere near that much

the gray cougar
$400 for the car
$10 for ebrake parts

so $410. guess that is my cheap one.

My 88 v6 cougar
$1400 1 transmission
$1250 2 transmi
about $600 on suspension
almost $300 on all the front lamps
about $300 for the engine problem i still cant find
$300 next month for dual exhaust
$340 for new tires
and still going to distance

That's alright man--I won't tell anyhow.

If you guessed a lot of money, pat yourself on the back. But I'm single with no bills...so it's not an issue to me. I think nothing of dropping $5K US into it.

i got about less than 4k in mine. that includes new everything from the doors to licence plate body wise, entire new drive traine '90mustang, full exhaust, new suspension, and 5 lug cobra brake conversion, o and some interior stuff includeing headunit & speekers...

i got my shopp'n skills from mom :)

Car - $3200 (Yup, I'm already on the high side of that)
Body & Paint - $300
Tranny - $700
Clutch - $150
Heater Core - $800? (that's mostly labour, and was done at the same time as tranny/clutch)
Brakes - $700
New VAM - $300+ (I can't actually remember)
Alternator - $150
Starter - $150
Fuel Pump - $75
Tires - $750
Fog lights - $20
Spare block and head - $50
T3 .60/.63 - $200
Labour on half those items - easily $2000

Ouch........... $9525.

I honestly couldn't tell you what some of those parts really cost. I'm doing my best to guess.

I'm now into my truck for around $4G, and that's even worse.

The first fact of life. Cars are expensive.

The second fact of life. Double that expense for Fords.

.............$9500.................that's just depressing.

Who's idea was this again? :flame:

Oh, add a repaired passenger window, drivers seat, and a Gillis Valve to that list. I'm done trying to figure this out. I can guarantee I've forgotten others, so we know for sure I'm over the $10G mark.

Hehe, we all put so much into these things and as more goes wrong, we just put out more money to fix them

Oh, going over specifics, including the price of the car $900, all my work performance wise and repairs (list too long to post) actually comes to almost $9,000 estimated. That's a wee bit more than I thought.

Hmm...I know I don't have too awfully much in my Thunderbird. I'm not gonna count expendables such as tires.

$1250 purchase price
~$400 for exhaust
$1200-ish in the new engine (including intercooler and all that stuff)
$100 worth of gauges
And we'll say around $300 for miscellaneous items (speakers, etc)

So that gives me a total of about $3250. Hell, I've spent over $2500 just insuring the car in the 3 years I've owned it:bs:
