Yeah. So I'm done with winter. Reply #60 – February 04, 2014, 06:36:00 PM They are calling for 6-10" overnight here. My '80 tbird has snow tires on the stock 14" rims. It's been getting around pretty good, even with an empty trunk. Quote Selected
Yeah. So I'm done with winter. Reply #61 – February 04, 2014, 07:56:09 PM There's a drift (as of right before full dark) as tall as my Tbird. My Mountaineer was struggling...I made a circle over past my dad's place and back up the other gravel road. 3 foot drifts in places, and still coming down, wind is getting stronger. The snow will end soon, but the drifts will be big as dunes by daylight. School is already called, and people are being told to stay home again tomorrow. It will all come to pass. Quote Selected

Doubt the Mounty will make it to the road before long. We've already got 8+ inches, and it looks like it will last till well after midnight. And my ed tractor and blade is at my dad's....Oh well...ain't like I have anything better to do. Mope around and play Skyrim until I can go cut more wood. LOL. Quote Selected

Yeah. So I'm done with winter. Reply #68 – February 05, 2014, 12:01:51 PM 12-14 inches here, drifts like a son of a bitch. This is worse than the big one of Feb '11. That was only a few inches but it blew so hard. It's gonna be a shovelin' kind of day...if I want to put rubber on the pavement later. As for a Mustang...they ain't going anywhere. Of the two outside, the only thing poking out it the top foot or so of the glass, and roof. Quote Selected
Yeah. So I'm done with winter. Reply #69 – February 05, 2014, 01:14:03 PM We dodged the bullet here. We were supposed to get 6-10", and we got about 4". I bet all of the schools and places that closed preemptively last night feel silly. When I was a kid, they NEVER canceled school the night before. You had to get up early, listen to the radio announcer list the closings in alphabetical order. When he skipped over the letter where your school would have been listed, it was devastating, lol. I would keep listening until it was time to start my long walk to school. One time, I was walking to school in the snow, and some old man yelled "hey kid, school is closed today!". I just ignored him, and thought "yeah right". I walked all the way to school, and wouldn't ya know, it was closed! So I got to walk all the way back home. Quote Selected
Yeah. So I'm done with winter. Reply #70 – February 05, 2014, 01:57:05 PM We got 7 inches here last night. Season total is 62.4 inches. Thank goodness it has compacted/melted a bit over the last 6 weeks. Right now the snow depth is about 13-14 inches in most places, except for snow piles. I've got one pile along my driveway that is almost to the top of my 4 foot fence. Quote Selected

Yeah. So I'm done with winter. Reply #73 – February 05, 2014, 07:39:24 PM Im in Central Michigan....so we dont receive the snow fall as Grand Rapids which gets lots of lake effect. So lots of snow this year...over 20" on the ground. It has not been above 30 degrees sense December except 2 days....been the lowest of -9 without windchill....worst winter here in 20 years....Travis Quote Selected
Yeah. So I'm done with winter. Reply #74 – February 05, 2014, 08:52:20 PM It got cold and snowy here pretty much right after Thanksgiving, which is unusual. I had two cyclocross races in early Dec that were on snow-covered ground and at temps in the low teens. Not fun. Outside of a couple "warm" days in the 40's since then, it's been cold and snowy. I'm tried of training in the frigid cold.I also have a bunch of stuff I'd like to do on the car, but I'm not in the mood to eff with it in the cold, unless it's a necessity. Quote Selected
