Re: Carlisle Ford Nationals Reply #64 – June 11, 2005, 11:44:59 PM I understand that there was a smoke claoud at the hotel or restaurant close to the hotel. Can any one fill the rest of us in on this? Did any one get the name, car description, or even pictures? If so let us know. From what I heard, this car is not a slouch but not the quickest car out there either. Quote Selected
Re: Carlisle Ford Nationals Reply #65 – June 12, 2005, 12:30:59 AM It makes me sick that I wasn't able to go this year (again). Looks like y'all had a great time. I will be at CJ. Quote Selected
Lincoln Mark VIIs at Carlisle, PA Reply #66 – August 30, 2005, 07:34:30 PM Are there any Lincoln Mark VII owners reading this that are unaware of our efforts concerning Mark VIIs at the 2006 show? In 2005, Lincoln Mark VII partition was at (I'm told) an all time high with about 20 cars. This was primarily due to plenty of advanced notice of the show dates, lots of Club activity, and plenty of Owners that just wanted a better parking space :)Seriously though, a Carlisle winner himself, Bill "BMNLSC" drafted a letter to the Carlisle Staff, requesting splits in our class. They responded quickly noting that our concern "... has been placed in the Ford file for the new planner." Having only one class for Lincoln Mark VII 1984-1992 S/M does NOT promote competition or originality or creativenes. Stock and Modified and Special Edition and Aftermarket should not have to compete with each other in the same class.True, the Lincoln Mark VII was only produced for nine years, but the final product came in a BUNCH of flavors with:six factory models, BaseBill BlassGianni VersaceLSCSpecial Edition (no chrome)Turbodieselthree aftermarket models,ConvertibleGTCRoadsterfour different engines,115 hp L Turbodiesel140 hp F200 hp M (1986-1987)225 hp E (1988-1992)and a list of standard and optional equipment that continues to surpass cars manufactured today. If you own a Lincoln Mark VII of any year, make, model, quality, or quantity, I'd like to hear from you directly or in this Forum.Thank you and here's to a fun 2006 season!John "OldSchool" Dancyjohn dot dancy at comcast dot nethttp://www.LSCclub.org Quote Selected
Re: Carlisle Ford Nationals Reply #67 – August 31, 2005, 01:41:01 AM this would be a great thread on a lincoln board. Hope you get the splits. Quote Selected
Re: Carlisle Ford Nationals Reply #68 – September 07, 2005, 07:19:25 PM Thanks.I hope we get the splits too.Could you imagine only 5 classes of Cougar judging instead of the current 10?Could you imagine only 7 classes of Thunderbird judging instead of the current 14? Lincoln owners, especially Lincoln Mark VII owners, want to bring our delemma to everyone's attention. The Carlisle Ford Nations thread is a good place to inform the dual/triple/quad owners of Ford/Lincoln/Mercury products that may not be aware of what's going on with thier Fox Body Cousins.Carlisle hosts:1967-68 COUGAR XR7, XR7G,GTE,GT1971-73 COUGAR COUPE & CONV.1967-68 COUGAR STANDARD1969-70 COUGAR STANDARD COUPE/XR71969-70 COUGAR ELIMINATOR1969-70 COUGAR STD CONV. Re: Carlisle Ford Nationals Reply #70 – September 07, 2005, 09:40:34 PM I dunno. If you were asking about the 1988 Lincoln Mark VII I'd have to say that 1988 was a banner year for the Mark VII series as the LSC's power plant now boasted a standard 225 hp high output version of the 302 (5.0) The LSC and Bill Blass were so loaded with standard features that the only options available were power sun roof, anti-theft alarm system, California emissions system, engine block heater, auto dimming rear view mirror, and a front license plate bracket. 16" aluminum turbine wheels were introduced as standard for the LSC model. Total production hit a high of 38,259 units that would not be surpassed in the following years. I don't know much about Thunderbirds. Quote Selected
