New windows??

Where is the best place to source new windows? I have reglued, epoxy and any other way you can think of keeping the clips on the window but they never stay.. :punchballs: getting very tired of taking the doors apart just to have to redo them. Thanks in advance...

There's epoxy you can use that won't let go. Mine have held for literally years now, and two different cars that these same windows have been in. Pull the windows. Clean them super clean, removing any residue or oily stuff left behind, sand the areas where the clips go....sand the clips on the inside (after removing the old stuff), and apply some white marine adhesive. It works even under water, and once cured, it will not let go. made for holes in bolts under water. I've used it and swear by by it for these applications. If you don't have any access to it, send me $6.00 and I'll get a tube and ship it to you. I picked mine up at Wal-Mart. It's an epoxy stick. Break a piece off, knead it to a uniform color, and use it. I let mine dry over night. Awesome stuff, in the wicked cold, and the wicked heat.

Thanks vinnie I will look at the walmart near me for it.. You don't happen to have a pic of what the tube looks like do you.. I'll give $6 bucks a try before buying new windows.

It's a clear plastic tube about 4 inches long with a cheap looking white inner paper. I believe it says "Marine Weld" or something close to that. It's in the automotive section where you'd find the other adhesives. Nothing else looks like it. AWESOME stuff.

I did the same Prep as Vinnie, and then had some JB weld and figured what the hell and tried it.  Been holding about a year now.  Make sure your tracks slide well and the window channels are clear.

This is a good time to put a little grease in the window tracks as well. I do that about once a year to keep the windows from binding in any way.

JB Weld was an idea I had thought of, but with the epoxy stick, there was no dripping and the epoxy stick is more "solid" and takes up space against the window and clip. That was my reasoning at the time anyway.

When you say grease the window tracks are you talking about the vertical tracks that the actual window slides on or the vertical tracks that the push the window up and down?? If you are talking about the vertical tracks what do you grease them with??

It's a red colored grease. I use a brush and put a light film over the horizontal track and the pivot points. made a huge difference.

I have had problems with the clips as well and used JB weld the strange thing about my drivers window is that when it is warm out the window seems to go down with ease when its cold the motor struggles to pull the window down.

Honestly, I don't know what brand. It's a thinner style grease in a small round can. Had it forever. I'd imagine just about any kind of thinner grease would work fine (clean the track first).
