It's finally over! Reply #45 – November 09, 2010, 06:09:56 PM A long round about getting rid of them has sorta been touched on. Buy that house for back taxes, then either 1) call the cops on them for trespassing and squatting or 2) raise the rent high enough so that there is no way they can afford it along with about $1g security deposit all due within 30 days...one month later when they haven't paid, start the eviction process. Then sale the house for enough to pay off the loan for the taxes + a bit for your trouble. Quote Selected
It's finally over! Reply #46 – November 09, 2010, 06:21:36 PM Honestly, as much as I would love to do that, I just can't afford/don't have good enough credit to do so. And the house looks to be in pretty rough shape so I doubt I would be able to sell it afterwards anyway...I do have to go to court on the 6th of Dec. for incidents with my brother, and then again on the 13th of Dec. for his girlfriend (the minor) for vandalism (they egged my house and my car and shot fireworks at my house last 4th of July when I took the family camping) and assault (on my 8 year old stepson). We will see what happens after that. Quote Selected

They do it here in WV and you can simply pay them a donation and they do a controlled burn. .Except "accidentally" give them the other people's house number... Whoops! Quote Selected
It's finally over! Reply #48 – November 09, 2010, 09:31:25 PM I would look into renting your home. Then you could move out and let someone else pay that mortgage for you. Quote Selected

I would think the rental market is booming right now with all the mortgages that have tanked in the last couple years. Quote Selected
It's finally over! Reply #50 – December 06, 2010, 11:36:33 AM Well, I just cam back from court today against my brother. He didn't show. He turned himself in on a previous warrant he had in another state this morning right before court. Judge ordered a capius (failure to appear warrant) against him. It was tough(emotionally) to go up in front of a judge against him, but it's tough love I guess and of course the wife and kids come first. Next Monday we will be back in Court for the girlfriend. Wonder how that will go. Quote Selected

And after its paid for or after a couple years see if they want to buy it. If not put it up for sale after their lease is up. Quote Selected

It's finally over! Reply #56 – December 13, 2010, 03:19:56 PM So today we went to court against the girlfriend (a minor) for assault and vandalism. What a waste of time. Before the case was even heard, the D.A and prosecutor pulled us aside, and told us that the judge had just about already made up his mind and that pretty much nothing was going to happen because it was her "first offense". Now, this is for a 16 year old girl punching a seven year old and giving him a black eye, and for egging my house and car while we were away camping. She got 20 hrs. community service. We had pictures, and witnesses ready to present everything and the judge acted like he didn't care to see it. I see now that it is most definitely not worth the time/trouble to go by law and the court system to get things done. I see why a lot of people take things into their own hands - because the law don't do shiznit. So basically, now, I am back to square one. It's only a matter of time before they start up again, probably today, and knowing nothing will ever be done just makes me insane. Quote Selected

It's finally over! Reply #58 – December 13, 2010, 09:38:07 PM Personally I'd ignore em. If that didn't work Id be doing some absolutely evil shiznit in their direction. I'm just that kind of guy though... Quote Selected
It's finally over! Reply #59 – December 13, 2010, 09:42:21 PM I've only got to ignore them for a few more months, then it's moving time, completely out of this town. I think I can handle it, I was just very pissed off after court and the way they handled it. They will get what's coming to them someday. Quote Selected
