TC Freshen Up - WIP (pics!) Reply #17 – May 18, 2010, 09:39:37 PM I might have to try that. It goes on the outside? What type of clear coat do you use (Acrylic lacquer, etc)? Quote Selected

TC Freshen Up - WIP (pics!) Reply #19 – May 19, 2010, 03:26:35 PM Thanks, Gumby. :)Well,I got rained out again for a while (which is why I'm inside at the moment). I got a lot of sanding done though, and was starting on filler. Got a layer of it down where it was needed and then it started to sprinkle which turned into a moderate shower quickly. I scrambled for anything I could find asap and covered the 'wet' parts up. EZ up tent top and some plastic roll. As soon as I am sure it wont rain on me again today I'm gonna finish up the rest of the filler, sand, prime, glaze, sand a bit more, prep, tape, and then hopefully get that molding painted all the way around. Found many more spots that needed attention than I previously thought there was too so it is going to be a huge improvement. I did get a photo out of the whole rain ordeal though. I guess that's my official introduction now. Me and my, currently, Bondo Bird. Quote Selected
TC Freshen Up - WIP (pics!) Reply #20 – May 19, 2010, 06:56:27 PM This weather hates me. I had to stop before going any further because it started raining yet again (you lie weatherman!). I did get some work done at least. I sanded a little bit more until my current strip of sandpaper died but I didn't want to risk having anything trying to dry and it start raining more so I stayed away from the glaze and paints. She's coming along. One side done.. I decided I am going to add a thick red pinstripe to the top of that after all. I really like the red on there with it now that I can see both styles at once.Decided to paint those too. Good photo to show the original "black" and the Toyota colour. That bumper is gradually getting there. Needs glaze, primer and final smoothing out.Got a long way to go over here.. I dread masking more.I'll work on her more tomorrow afternoon when it is SUPPOSEDLY going to be nice weather. Tomorrow morning though I'm going to pick up ANOTHER TrailBlazer, this time for my dad. :D He is trading in the mini van. He's wanted a TrailBlazer since I got mine so now he is getting one too. - doh..Whew.. Quote Selected

No way though, that grip is staying, lol I hate the stock steering wheel feel - its too narrow for me. :DI should have most of this stuff finished tomorrow and then I can start on the calipers and drums and window trim. I can't wait to see it with the new paint after a wash too rather than shiny black and dirty, grungy white. Quote Selected
TC Freshen Up - WIP (pics!) Reply #25 – May 20, 2010, 07:50:16 PM Got more done in the short while I got to work on her today since I got back from the stealership late (what scammers, we didn't get anything at that py place). Was about to tape up the front bumper and came in for a drink and saw the weather map and rain approaching (dammit..). Finished up what I was doing and called it a night. My helper, rather I want her there or not.I bought some pinstripe for her today, and some VHT Nightshade (might try it or might take it back, still undecided). *shrug* It looks like Saturday afternoon it might clear up and Sunday is supposed to be nice (heh..) so looks like tomorrow I wont be finishing the painting. I'll find something to work on though, I just don't know what yet. Quote Selected
