New Member Reply #16 – December 04, 2009, 10:43:30 AM LMFAO. I'd gladly pay ya but my wife put a stop to me spending money. Something about being "one of those people". I didnt really catch all of it. I think she was referring to having another car sitting behind the garage. Quote Selected

New Member Reply #23 – December 05, 2009, 03:38:11 PM Sorry don't show any pics of the 70 Mach1. You would'nt believe how much I've been harassed about this car. I get questions like:What are you going to do with it, you don't run it.Here, I got $5000 cash right here you'll sell it now.The worst ? is, now that you are unemployed you'll have to sell it.This is my son and mine's project for when I retire and then it will go to him. The last time I ran it was back in 1990 when we moved into our present home. The motor has been rebuilt with it pushing around 500hp and only gets around 2 1/2 mpg, plus it needs the torque boxes replaced. (NOT SAFE)You can ask 1Bad88tbird (Jay) for verification about this car, for he has seen it before. Thanks for the comments,Ron Quote Selected
New Member Reply #24 – December 05, 2009, 04:55:55 PM ^^ Hehe 500 hp thats not much more than stock for the 428 :D , what it take to get that a K&N and an updated ignition... You gotta love the late 60's early 70's big blocks. I've got a couple of the DOVE 460's sitting in the shop now just itching to go in a T-Bird. Quote Selected

It's been proven time and time again, few if any Muscle cars produce more than about 350-375Hp in STOCK trim... Now IF you are talking a good tune up with fatter carb jetting and OPEN headers that's a different story...BTW... I've owned a 428CJ since the early 70s... Quote Selected
New Member Reply #27 – December 05, 2009, 09:22:43 PM ^^ lol Do you do this all the time or what?? It just seems to me that you nick pick everyone's post to death, maybe it's just me? Either way I don't know and don't really care :D but take a quick look it I think it should only take you a couple of seconds to read the very first paragraph. Here I'll even paste the important part! " 428CJ made over 400HP easy. Ford choose to advertise the 335 figure for several reasons 1) insurance 2) Super Stock Class it would run in"!! straight from the Fairlane Registry my guess is they know what there talking about but who knows. http://www.fordfairlane.com/428cj.html Have a nice day. New Member Reply #28 – December 05, 2009, 10:08:03 PM Don't believe everything you read...BTW Jon Huntly got most of his 428 Fairlane registry from yours truly... I kept the registry for about 10 years before I turned my info over to him... HP can be determined by trap speed(not ET) on a quarter mile run... A 3700lb car that runs 13.80 @ 101mph isn't making 400Hp by any stretch of the imagination(Stock 428CJs ran similar numbers in the tests of the day)... Don't believe me??? Check out some of the on line calculators... Again with OPEN headers, carb and ignition work, yes they can make 400Hp but not as installed at the factory... I don't pick on anyone, but if you're going to post FALSE info, you WILL hear from me...Have a nice evening... Quote Selected

Either way I don't know and don't really careIf you didn't care, you wouldn't have made an effort to point it out......Like he said, he's simply correcting false info. We do that.....It's not to offend anyone; it's simply for the benefit of our community here and those who read the info. Nothing more, nothing less. Quote Selected
