I think she'll be very happy.Are you saving til Christmas?That would be cool.Just don't even let on about a ring,ignore hints,and then on Christmas.....BAM...Diamonds.

Well that was the plan only for her birthday on the 4th, but...

Last night after my 18hrs of work (Black Friday can kiss ass) she tells me Im going to tell you something but done be mad. I dont like that ring that much anymore. FML

So I try to avoid even telling her I already bought it and was going to pick it up the next day. We kept talkin and she kept asking if I was mad but I was saying no. I wasnt mad just kinda like now what?

So for some reason I told her what I did. Bad idea. She was so upset and mad at herself but I couldnt have been happier in the end. If she wouldnt have told me then I would of given her a ring she didnt like and she would have looked at it every day and wished it was different. I tried explain to her I was glad she told me but she was still upset over it all. She isnt one to show too much emotion about little things so I know she was really mad at herself and in return I was kinda mad at myself for rushing and getting that ring right after we looked at it.

SO... Plan is to drive back to Zales and return the ring I never got and either wait for a while for another ring, or buy her the one thing I KNOW I cant go wrong with, no matter what, without a doubt....



We will see how I feel when I get there.

So this was a fail. Atleast I failed early so I didnt fall as hard.

Are you kidding about the penguin?Why not a ring?You guys are "serious" aren't you? I would think a woman serious in her relationship would be wanting a ring.My own guess of course.

You're prolly better off this way in the long run. It's better for both of you if she's happy, so make sure she gets what she wants this time. Consider it a warm-up for marriage. "A happy wife is a happy life." lol.

It all comes down to appreciation in my own opinion.In the very first post you stated that she loved that ring.I would NOT say that it was a "Fail" by any means.You did good.The rest wasn't on your shoulders (so to speak).

Serious about the penguin. She is getting that for her birthday. The ring will wait. She is, well we both are particular about things, which makes this so much harder. Usually diamonds alone are enough for a woman but she is a little harder to please. They arent as important to her like they are to most. If Im dropping the money it better be something she likes and if she started thinking she didnt like that one Im not getting it.

New plan is shop around more, wait and let her think about it, then go back and look again. I owe $250 on that necklace and the earrings (1/3 ct, 1/5 ct IIRC). I cant stand this waiting to pay for things, I feel like Im playing a board game.

Ring or no ring things are the same between us. Time will tell on this. There is a ring somewhere, Ill find it for her somehow.
