I hear you on the weatherstripping part. Then again, you can't expect perfection when the company grafts a Buick Riviera convertible top onto a Mercury...

LOL, I keep a bucket in the back just in case. :hick:

I dont know why, i just cant get into the verts on these cars.

I think an 87/88 vert might have more appeal.

They are at their best when the top is down though, but in this case, that dingle berry hangin on the ass needs shook off.

I hate driving a convertable. My freinds 89 cavilier really changed my mind on that one.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

i think what makes the "aero" cougar stand out is the rear side windows, their odd backwards shape, as compared to other car windows, and the straight up and down back window....  all the styling, in my opinion, starts there.....  take that away, and it's just another mid 80's "box" car...

OOOH!!!  I'm a Eco Hypermiler :burnout: Not bad for 79mph on the interstate 2hours a day

Hmmm.... I always thought it was because the curves on the panels and roof that made it an aero car. side glass is just side glass.
compare the original look of the cougar compared to a vert, and you'll see something very familiar as far as side glass. It's my favorite part of a vert because it ties in the classic look of the cougar with the modern look it's become

Although not as sloped forward as the earlier cars, it still has the feel of the older cars when you look at it.
But that's my take on the non standard look on the verts. ;)

Now, myself, I've always thought that a Fox Cougar without the upside down quarter glass is, well, a Fox Thunderbird :mullet:

yep, as it always has been. The birds and cougars always had similar 1/4 windows until the aero.
