Hey vin when you goin muddin(4x4)???? lol.
Looks better than i thought it would but the stance.......
I understand your function comment but you have to pay to play and the cost of looks goes against the cost of function.

I think the stance looks OK.  Yeah sure it would look a little better lower, but I know what its like to have a lowered car.  It looks cool but it rides like a dump truck and ses fairly easily...so I know where you are coming from Vin.

Keep up the good work.

Well, like I said,I like the function of  being able to haul a lot of groceries, some kids,or whatever with no problems. The car is an excellent all around car. It's pretty quick, rides great, can actually take corners well (considering the "4x4 stance"),and gets a lot of compliments everywhere we go.It stands out in the crowd, and not like anyone else's.The front of my can't go any lower with the Mach 1 spoiler and still take any kind of incline or speed bump. The rear is just about how I like it.Not jacked up like back in the 70's,and I do NOT want the car to look like I'm carrying 500 pounds of bricks in the trunk.I don't understand the "pay to play" thing. If I have to give up function for looks, forget it.I personally think the car (yes,I'm prejudice towards the Sport) is a really good, well balanced car.Looks, performance, and my own ideas spread throughout, not a copy of anyone else's by any means. You CAN have looks and function ,which,I think the Sport does........in my own opinion (I'm on the inside looking out on this subject). It's my saved salvage yard car.

Vinnie....those wheels go great on the Sport. Honestly the first thing I thought of was the script Thunderbird emblem :rollin: I really do like that a lot, thats so unique. The car must get so much attention, gotta be kinda well-known I would think.

My driveway being one of them, there are a lot of steep inclined entrances and places where even a mildly lowered car will not be able to go. Really makes the vehicle a lot less practical and enjoyable anywhere you go. Im happy with the stance of mine, yours looks good too. Doesnt really scream "4x4" to me. Im sure the rest of your family appreciates the pracitcal side of the Sport. :D

okay, looks like the IP was the problem.  Can see the pics now.

Vinnie, I want to tell you a story.  A friend took me to a restaurant where we had was can best be described as asian fajitas, assembled by us from three platters of gawd-awful looking stuff (not a big asian food fan).  I put one together and loved it, it tasted great.  Intrigued by the successful combination of scary foods, I sampled each thing individually.  Most tasted like  by themselves, but together were delicious.

"What's the point," you ask?  If you'd asked my opinion on just about everything you've done to your car, at each point, I'd have said "no thanks, try something different", esp the wheels and paint.  But just like that funky asian fajita, everything you've done works and works well.  Well done.

Thanks a lot,I appreciate that.I really do a lot of thinking before I do or add anything.I try to look at the "big picture".How well does it "fit" the overall look.Does it look like it belongs?Does it look like everyone else's (which is a no-no).I even have a notebook that has a few lists in it.....what I have....What I want/need......what I need to do.....and drawings/sketches of ideas that I need to fab,or at this point, already have.......and copies of info that I need or will need.....It's like a big blueprint so to speak.

I do appreciate all you guys.I like to hear the comments (positive and negative). It gives my a good overall look at what the outside world sees that I may not.

I like it all, right down to the smooth header panel. You did a great job for a car that would have seen the crusher. I've never been a fan of green cars, but this one is my only exception for some unknown reason to me. You did good, and it was free on top of it. Hopefully we'll have our cars together at Catjam one year, and we can sit down and try to figure out who's new parts actually came off of who's cars. ;) ......... I've lost track already. LOL

Good job Vinnie

I've lost track as well, and there will be a few more parts coming to you soon.Jerry, you hit the nail on the head in your statement above, the car was totally free.NOTHING from our paychecks. All trade, money from selling parts and from selling on Ebay.Period.I just picked up the differential fluid and friction modifier.Ready to install it.All I need is some time.

Thanks again guys,I appreciate ALL of the comments.

The pay to play thing was just as you said sacrificing looks for functionality or vise versa.
Don't get me wrong vinn, your car looks good and i respect the work you've done to it but she's just to high for me.
It works for ya though and that's all that matters.
On a side note,Jerry where's the updates on the car,it's been a while lol.

Nice work. I prefer the smooth header over the stock design.

I've been fixing and checking the wiring harness wire by wire for any damage or wear. It doesn't make for exciting progress reports.
Also been stripping everything out of the bird, so I can s it.
Hope you don't mind my update Vinnie.

Your threads both are inspirational to my project. I try to spend no more than 50 dollars out of every paycheck, which, since i get paid every other week, equals to 25 bucks a week...so budget is the name of my game, and I too have a list of stuff, although it's nothing exotic like new wheels or paint (yet). I just get impatient, but I really try not to, cause that's when mistakes get made, and this car will not be half-assed. I love the green paint...would like mine to be something like that, but I don't want to be labeled as a copy-cat...for now anyway, my plans involve nothing more thn black primer after some basic bodywork. I've got a long long time to make it what my ultimate vision is. There's about 5 or cars on this site that really impress me, and while I won't drop names or kiss ass, lol, they all make me want to someday have a car that everyone, no matter if it's a young kid, or a die-hard Chevy guy, or even a Honda kid, all turn and say, ", that is one sweet ride."

Nothing, but nothing is gonna get in my way, although it may slow me down at times, lol.

Anyway, not to derail V-man's thread, he's got a ton of sweat and work in that car, and it for sure stands out. :D

As I stated,I appreciate all comments, and all opinions. We all like what we like.No worries.I took no offense at all.I still am open to any and all ideas, opinions and comments about any part of the car. It's all good.

Cougarcragar....as far as the smooth header panel,I'm still adjusting to it.I miss the "bird" in it,but,I do love it a lot more than the one with the huge gaping hole in it...........I mean cooling duct.
