The price may be because of the original driver of the car the (late) Alan Kulwicki. Check out this link for info about a major resto project for his 1992 Winston Cup Championship car: http://www.underbird.com/index.html

(I used to live in WI and remember when he won this race as well as hearing of his untimely death... :( )

yeh bike got to it before me but alan was a legend. he owned his own race team, which is done to day. but unlike whats done today, he won the championship. also you know the tradition of going around a track clockwise to be facing the fans during your victory lap? created by him, which he coined the "polish victory lap." he was killed while flying in the winter from one place to another and the wings iced up and it crashed. it was a sad time for nascar. if i had the money, i'd buy that thing.

Wow I didnt know all of this about him nor the car. I was just posting it because it looked pretty cool and I thought someone might be interested in it. Im young so I wasnt really into nascar when he was around/driving.

well im only 23 lol i was maybe 4 or 5 when him and davey alison died. another legend. i've been into nascar since i was a day old.. i spent plenty of time at a local dirt track starting from when i was in a stroller.

the lack of info on this car from the seller makes me think it was either a clone or not one of the cars he won the championship with. it says it was repainted and decaled which makes me lean twards a clone. but the price contradicts that.

Your 23....Im only 19! lol I was only 3 when he won the 1992 Winston Cup. Plus dad was never really into Nascar. I grew up at the dragstrip. Allthough we did attend a few races at Charlotte. Its just kinda boring to watch these days. Its all about advertisment and all the cars are EXACTLY the same except for a few suspension differences. I just never really got into it. But hey im not bashing Nascar or people who watch it but its just not my style I guess...

its all in how you look at it. bristol or martinsville. ones high banked with nice sweeping turns, the other is tight 45mph center corners. but if you include coming to the green flag, thats like 1 pass at a drag race.. you get to turn 2? your comin out of the hole as fast as possible. 10 lap race is like 20 passes at the drag races with very little staging time between. also you have to worry about all of the cars out there.. its not bracket racing. but thats one of the reasons i like oval racing. nothing better than a late model dirt car with the pedal down the entire time riding the cushion on an ever changing groove with all 700hp blazing down to 13 second lap times.

nascar keeps getting further and further away from FUN cars. this new car of today is bullshiznit. right front spring so soft it colapses on to shock bumpers.. completely tire to chassis contact to go fast? although if that splitter hits the track you dont have any traction... its so convoluted. i think the race teams, who build these cars from scratch, the honor of designing a more radical, faster, better handling car. i watch mainly to keep up with the race teams.

on the other hand. i've only been to a drag strip 1 time for a chevy show bracket race. it wasnt too NHRA so i know i missed out on the ultimate.. but it doesnt seem that fun.. like setting fireworks off.. bombs with the PROs

guess i never really thought of it that way! lol it just doesnt interest me as much as others I suppose. I do watch a nascar race every once in a while but I do agree it is alot more fun in person! Pretty boring on tv.
