Update on my 88 xr7. Reply #78 – January 29, 2009, 02:22:49 PM Samantha, All he's doing is pointing out some contradicting statements you made. He probably made some incorrect assumptions, which should not be ignored. But this is some serious repair we're talking here, and any kind of bodywork is mega-bucks. You definitely got a good deal, and in terms of "making sure it's done right" so far the pictures look good, and that's up to you and your father to make sure you find a reputable shop, not a sketchy one. I have some rust in the rear lower quarter of my car, and relative to the size of it it seems awfully small. I'll probably be looking at $800-$1k worth of work, talking to people I know who know what that goes for around here. It is definitely a chunk of change, but bodywork is a big deal. I'm right where you are, not *exactly* but I too am a college student, and I'm trying to preserve/repair an old car. Not exactly practical! Just try and go easy on this York Auto alright? :) As it's been said, that shop is EXTREMELY clean looking. That says a lot, they probably take a lot of pride in their work, and are very very skilled. That stuff is an art form. Quote Selected

Reply #80 – January 29, 2009, 02:54:22 PM QuoteYeah well im definately not as spoiled as you think.so back off.I have to pay my way for everything I don't rely on anyone! So thanks for calling me spoiled. I bought the car for 2g put a 1g tranny in it and this is costing me 3300.I just took out a 15g loan for school.and guess who is paying for all thisMEEEE!!!I work for my money and I dont appreciate being called spoiled I dont run to anyone but my self for bills.I pay for my own cell phone never once missed a payment on that or my OWN credit card. Its cosmetology and you do get what your attitude is and what you pay.so yeah JUST MY 2C.yeah, i really dont mean any offense but this whole post is just like a "momma" that flaunts the fact that "I take care of MY baby" etc. your supposed to. your supposed to pay your own bills. your supposed to pay for your own stuff. your supposed to pay back those loans. its expected.Jcassidy's was pretty much on target imo. today everyone wants everything for nothing. this generation feeling of "entitlement" and lack of accountability is just sickening. i agree. you car should be repaired correctly and with in reason but perfection in a 20 year old car isn't likely and its not the shops fault.
