dead pedal

its been a few years since i held a mustang dead pedal in my hands. is there a snowballs chance that it would will bolt into my 87 tbird, or am i gonna hafta build a bracket?

finished puttin the interior together last night, and whilst sittin in the car i noticed i could really use one. the floot well is a good bit deeper than the clutch pedal.

I have a couple in the garage I "procured" from probably the same place you did.  A bracket, or at least some spacers behind it might be needed.  It's been a little bit since I looked at it.

OK, there are actually two different Mustang dead pedals. The two mounting holes are different from each other, and the pad attaches differently between them. Just so you know. :) But in either case you can definitely make them work on your car. IIRC I used some self-tapping screws. There are no pre-drilled holes for them, nor are there any indents in the kick panel metal, so it's line it up by eyesight and drill. I put mine high enough so that the floormat could get shoved under the pedal and stay put. Mustangs, I believe, have the pedal right down to the carpeting.

thanks for the info guys. i was sure i could make it work, i jus dont currently have one to look at. those dead pedals have made thier way into a lot of non-mustangs....

the real question is, do i head over to the dealer for one or drive across town and steal one from chuck? :moon:

I had one from FMS in my 87 Sport. I thought it bolted right in, but I may have had to drill a hole or something.
