My recent aquisition has me wondering... Reply #33 – January 28, 2008, 11:49:47 AM -ok, so i saw the thread friday, and just for the naysayers who doesnt think it exists, i went out to the garage and opened it up to try to make some pics, so at least you would know its there and does exist. this car was bought off of the showroom floor by my father in laaaate '87. it had sat so long that the fuel had turned into gel. the dealer was a VERY small country town dealer with NO svc dept at that time. my father bought the car, took the tank off, cleaned it out, coated it with POR-15, changed the pump on the sender, and drove it home. he had became friends with the GM at Atlanta Motor Speedway about 2-3 years before, and thats when they were using T-birds as pace cars. they gave him about 10 wide open laps in a '87 around the track, and it had a GFX kit on it, hence the one installed on this car. i dont remember the company brand, but the place that installed it is still in business, so i could find out if needed. i just remember it being done at the time as i was just graduating college. my dad bought the 'bird and i bought my first Ranger GT at about the same time. he kept it just like it is until he passed in '93 and left it to me, which i had to fight my step-mother over it as she tried to take it. but thats another story. i'd get a pic of the window sticker, but its against the wall on the passenger side. as you might can tell, the rear is up in the air, as that fuel pump he engineered from an F150 has finally gave up the ghost, and one of my winter projects is replacing it and putting in a new fuel tank. so maybe when thats done the weather will be warmer and i'll get it out and make some better pics for all to enjoy. interior pics are a little fuzzy as i had to turn up the iris on the camera to get the inside shots. hope this will do for now. as a note, yes its a raven cloth interior. note factory/convoy stickers on 1/4 glass.....note plastic on seats and the paper/cardboard FORD floormats.... the ORIGINAL DEALER tag, still on car.....there she is. 538 TOTAL miles showing. what you cant see good, is the tripometer reads 537.....-Stu Quote Selected
