im not sure about in mexico, but they only made the Spirit RT with the 224hp 2.2L here in the states

its a 2.2L, dual overhead cam, that engine was only in the Spirit R/T, and some Daytona IROC's, they are hard as hell to find parts for

i havnt driven one, but ive ridden in one, it was modded, had a double core intercooler using supercoupe cores, front mounted of course, 3" exhaust, i forgot how much boost, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and a few other no-too-major mods, and the car is well in the 12's
It's Gumby's fault.

Those cars were built here in mexico. The Spirit R/T 5 speed with 224 hp. Another was the Phantom R/t only with automatic but same engine, but the "faster" was the Shadow GTS with the same engine, with auto or manual. Those were avaible until 1995 (yeah, the XR7 supercharged were avaible here until 1995 too..)

170 mph is very much for these cars, but i dont know if this is right....

The LeBaron r/t was called a TC Masaratie here in the U.S.

The Shadow was called the Shelby CSX.

170 mph,  virtually impossible.  (figgure how high that motor would have to rev)

more like 170 kph (or ?110? mph)

More in the lines on 130mph to 140mph. I had an 89 LeBaron with the 2.5 it would top around 120.

nope, chrysler put out an engine, designated the TIII, that was DOHC, that was put in only the Spirit R/T and Daytona Iroc

the TC Maserati was actually a Chrysler/Maserati deal, where Maserati took the Lebaron, and gave it a little love to make the TC, similar to Roush and Saleen with the stangs

the Shelby CSX is essentially a shadow, Shelby took the Shadow, built it to his specs (TII engine, intercooled, suspension, wheels, tires, custom calibration, beefier internals, steering wheel, gfx and some other odds and ends), and sold it as a Shelby CSX

MexCougar, im doubting the Shadow GTS got the same engine as the Spirit R/T, because if they did, id know guys on the forums with them, the Shadows did get 2.2L Turbo engines, but not the same version as the Spirit R/T, the Shadow GTS most likely got a non-intercooled 2.2L that runs a mitsubishi turbo
It's Gumby's fault.

Yeah, sorry. The GTS have the turbo without intercooler and 160 hp. And some was 2.5 liters for the convertible and next years. You are right...

 But what the hell ? 270 km/h is a bulls**t !

I guess that the site with these info is not reliable....Look :

"The Phantom R/T and the Spirit R/T was the fastest cars in mexico during 1989 and 1995 with the only exception of the corvette ZR-1..."
Consider yo guys  the existence of the Mustang V8 Cobra, Thunderbird Supercoupe, XR7 Supercharged, Chevy Camaro, Taurus SHO, Cavalier Z-24, Nissan 300ZX, Nissan Hikari Turbo,Golf GTi and a bunch of another cars of these years ,and if you want don´t forget the TurboCoupe 88....what do you think ?....

the 89+ cars in the states got the 2.5L, its the same block as the 2.2, but stroked

im not familiar with the Phantom R/T, im going to assume is the same thing as a Spirit, but badged different, (Chrysler vs Dodge maybe), they were rather fast, but not the fastest, i think they were pretty much equal to the Supercoupes and XR7's, i dont recall stock track times for them
It's Gumby's fault.

Phantom R/T

so the phantom is the equivalent to a Lebaron GTC, with the TIII engine, amazing

I had a 86 2.2 Lancer Turbo.  It was a fun little car.....upkeep was expensive.  I eventually got rid of it when I fragged the fuel pump.....wasnt worth the trouble any more.  Thats when I got the 85 Eldorado....thats another story altogether lol
88 TC, Lots of Mods.

upkeep was expensive?! where were you shopping?

champion plugs, 6.50 for 4, 20 bucks for wires, 15 for cap and rotor, i ran synthetic, so 25 bucks for a case, and 3 for a filter, theres your tune up

even when sensors fail, they arnt too expensive, unless you go with an offbrand sensor and it keeps failing (Mopars dont like Bosch)

even a fuel pump isnt bad, they run like 75 bucks for a new one, and can be changed in 20 minutes
It's Gumby's fault.

Up keep being expensive can also mean the shere number of things that break.  All those motors loved to go through head gaskets, more so than the N/A 3.8L ford motors.
