are you painting the engine bay the same color as the car is going to be? and just want to see how you guys think about the engin bay being black and the rest of the car being a diff color?

The bay is already painted black to match the rest of the car. I myself never liked the engine compartment painted black as compared to the rest of the car being another color. but mine just worked out that way.
You could probably see it's painted in some of the pics. I painted it last spring and usually keep it covered.

I'm one to agree seeing the engine bay the same color as the rest of the car.  My stock '62 Fairlane has a black engine bay, and black engine block.  I will be changing that, lol.  However, if the engine bay is black, don't over chrome the parts.  All my opinion, so do what you feel looks good.

Finished with the entire car and jambs. backs and underside of doors are now done, and is the underside of the hood. All that's left to sand is the header and the underside of the trunk lid.
After that, then I have a couple places to seam seal....... I see paint in the near future. most likely the weekend of the 17th.

This is as clean as I can get the underside of the hood. lol

It's going to be beautiful Jerry.Are you tinting the windows as well for that truly sinister look?Also,after paint,are you pin striping or something else.I got my pinstripes from a body shop supply place here in town.They are by 3M,and the are thinner,and better quality than the Autozone (and other parts stores) stripes they sell.

I'll play it by ear after it gets painted, the door glass I have on the new doors, seems to have a way darker tint then the original doors I had. I may not stripe anything, I got a guy that does vinyl graphics stuff. I may do something out of the ordinary on the lower part of the car instead. I have to see the car painted first to decide if anything will be done.

Seam sealed the rockers, trunk areas, and trunk lid....... the next pics should have a car with paint........
I'll be setting up the shop with side lights, and getting the car prepped for paint.
