I sold Layla!

For the first time in FIVE YEARS...

...I do not own a Medium Red Turbo Coupe (1 87, 2 88's).

...I do not own ANY Turbo Coupe

That's right, Layla is gone. A nice dad and his son came over, saw the car, laid out my asking price in $100 bills, signed the title, put the car on a trailer, and off it went.

So I'm down to the 96 Nissan 4x4 and my 87 Sport 5.0 parts car. Time to buy a new toy! :D

I have 2 2.3T's with no homes as well. But one may find a home soon.

I also have the AMC 401 and T5 bell.

*sigh*

What do I get? An 83/84 TC? An 83-86 TBird and shove my 5.0 in it? A Javelin for the 401? An LS1 WS6 Trans Am?

I think I'm going to just put the money aside, buy the truck some carpet (smells like blown clutch :hick: ) and think until spring.

ABM is still open and I'll still be here every day. I'll be reading the "Cars for sale" more often for sure ;)

If you find any 4-eye's, send em my way :birdsmily: :cougarsmily:

Congrats on the sale!  Always fun to move on to a new project.

Whatever you move on to make sure you can run it down the track next spring.

AMC are hard to find in good condition for a good price right now.  Maybe you can get a Gremlin to put it into?

Ted,

I'll still be hosting PIR get-togethers. We're planning on a Christmas party in early December ;)

All,

I'm still going to get some sort of TC as well. We decided that the best thing to do was to get a really nice, low mileage example and keep it stock. Something we could drive to car shows. We're liking Blue ;) I'm keeping my eyes open.

As for going fast, that's going to be the V8's deal. Whether it be 302, 401, or an LSx. That won't happen until spring. Some sort of 4-eye if I get my way :D The 5.0 from the Sport and a T5 would be nice in a 83/84. Fast on the cheap ;) Or a Spirit AMX to stab the 401 in. Can you say 400+HP, 500+FtLbs in a sub-2500Lb car?

that IS a bargain. with a 390 and a 4 spd, thats a great price. man if i had that much $$ to spend on a car (and thats really still kinda entry level into the antique car hobby) thats what id spend it on. i lust after the muscle cars soooooo much. amc's are a good idea if you want that cheap...its an independent brand so they dont recieve quite as much attention as the big 3's offerings then, but they still built some stupid-fast stuff
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
1988 Black XR7 Trick Flow top end, Tremec 3550
1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

I have a 4 eye you can still save. Too bad for you it's a Cougar T-Bird boy :flame:
but you put the cat symbol there so I felt obligated to offer.
Since the drivetrain has been gutted it would be much easier to fit that 401 in there ;)

401 4-eye Cat? Keep talking :hick:

That mint 86 TC is an idea, but it's out of my price range :( Maybe not quite so perfect?

I already found 3 candidates, the first is a combo. Silver/Grey 2-tone 86 TC on Raven cloth, 5-Speed, and it comes with an 84 TC, Red on Red :hick: . Cheap, but both cars are pretty rough. The 84 is engineless and has been sitting, the 86 is bashed up rough. The 3rd car is a nice little 85 30th Anny Bird. All stock, 120K miles, looks clean. I might go look at that one today ;)
