Can you read this? Only 55 people out of 100 can. I couldn't believe that I could actually understand what I was reading. The phenomenal power of the human mind, according to a research at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter what order the letters in a word are, only important thing is that the first and last letter be in the right place...

I actually read it fine the first time :) I just started reading and kind of amazed myself at how easy it was too read. Goes to show you that using proper grammar is more important than actually spelling the word right.

If its so easy to interpret our own language when it has been butchered like so you would think it would be easier to learn a new language..

I dunno about smarter... better looking maybe, but not sure about smarter :hick:

If you don't like the cold you could always move to coastal BC - they have a climate much like Washington or Oregon. Better bring an umbrella, though (and chopsticks - Asians everywhere)

Does glass have some resilient features that have been unexplored? I would think that the fracture point of a sphere of glass would far exceed the bouncing point.
I suppose a sphere a steel could be plausible, but I'm curious about glass.

On another note: Has anybody heard the theory that glass is physically a liquid?

no, its not really a solid or a liquid. the molecules arent lined up in as straight or as tight as a solid, but its not as wild and loosey-goosey as a liquid. a picture would explain better but i cant find one

All I know is that on our humvees in Iraq, the glass armor stopped more flying debris than any other part of the trucks armor. Debris was always getting through the steel plating no problem....but the glass would just buldge waaayy out and stop the blast and steel and all. I have pictures of this after a big IED but I am not allowed to post these kind of pictures. But glass is more of a liquid than a solid is what they tell us.

Glass flows...very, very slowly.

Measurements of OLD glass (like found in the stained glass windows some very old European churches) are actually a little bit thicker near the bottom, and thinner near the top.
