s! Reply #15 – June 11, 2007, 05:42:38 AM I don't really want to mess up my sub box but thanks for the suggestion. What if I can save this trunk lid by shaving the trunk lock? I would get the car repainted due to its scratches and rust but my budget won't allow it. Quote Selected

s! Reply #17 – June 11, 2007, 11:34:59 AM I think if you got a new lock from the yard (even without keys) and then bring both to a locksmith he can change over the insides for you so you can use your original keys. At the very least he can make a new key for lock you found in the yard. At least this would put you back to where you were.I just wished that people would leave other people stuff alone.TED Quote Selected
s! Reply #18 – June 11, 2007, 02:11:24 PM Like wise, the subs aren't even 12"s they're only 10"s!Sounds like I'm gonna shave it, just because if I just replace the lock I'm afraid they might come back and do the same thing over again. After its shaved they'll probably just give up. Quote Selected

s! Reply #20 – June 11, 2007, 04:46:35 PM I don't have an alarm right now but I should have a 2 way by Wednesday. So since I'm shaving the trunk lock should I also take off the badges? Then fill the holes of course. Quote Selected
s! Reply #21 – June 13, 2007, 04:51:14 PM Got a quote on shaving the badges and the trunk lock, $563. Its okay for them doing the work but me and my dad can do the shaving and just have them paint the trunk. Should look pretty smooth when its done though.. Quote Selected
s! Reply #22 – June 14, 2007, 02:38:37 AM Before you shave it, might I suggest fixing the button in the glove box? :hick: Quote Selected
s! Reply #23 – June 14, 2007, 05:48:12 AM My theory on this is try not to make myself obvious. Don't give them a reason. So I generaly stay away from aftermarket sterios if possable. My car has the Premeum Sound option and the speakers have been replaced with Infinitys. It needs some more work (I'm not happy with it, possably replace the Amp and head unit) but after years ago drawing attention to my MontiCarlo SS with the Rockford Fosgate Sterio, Amp, Woofer and Cd Player then loosing it all including a 100CD collection I spent years putting together to some twit that used to hear me drive by and decided he wanted it mor than I did, him doing the same kind of damage that you show here...Never again. Sounding good for people driving down the road that don't want to hear my sterio in the first place aint worth it. Quote Selected

The trunk works, just not the gas door. Does anyone know how to fix this?I kind of have to have an after market stereo, I need my music not the radio. I thought of XM or Sirius but thats just another reason for them to brake into the car. The car has been previously broken into, I discovered this when cleaning it, the thieves took the stereo and screwed up the dash a good bit. Quote Selected

My 88 has two buttons in the glove box, Orange is Fuel FlapYellow is Trunk How to fix it? I assume it would have to be the switch or the solinoid.. check to see if the switch has power is where I would start. You got the idea, don't give them a reason. Quote Selected

s! Reply #29 – June 17, 2007, 10:06:30 AM Use a crowbar on what? I guess they could try to wedge it against the trunk edge and lift. And they already used a crowbar. Unless its you trying to break into my car I'm sure they'd give up and go after another car. When I install the alarm I'm putting in a blue led into the dash or some area so they know it has an alarm. Quote Selected
