so a carb gives you better PTV clearance?! LOL!

I NEVER SAID THAT! WTH I didn't want to buy the whole conversion , then have to get a reprogrammed computer, bigger TB, injector sizes, mass air meter. also this is going into a '83 cougar that has CFI.

I was sure for about 3 years that I was gonna take my '85 from CFI  to Carb... had an intake, brand new carb and lokar cables all ready for it.  When I sat down & thought about it though, I decided EFI was a better choice for what I'm using the car for.  I had a long-term plan of going from a non-roller CFI to carb, then goind EFI with a newer roller block down the road.  Foolish, though, because EFI will work fine with a Non-roller.  I decided it only for the fuel economy reasons, but the smooth acceleration and great throttle response were also factors.

Nothing wrong with carbs, but you'd be surprised how plug & play EFI is when you have a CFI car.  Has a lot of the same sensors, etc.  I know it's too late now, but I thought I'd mention it.

Nobody is wrong here.  There are good and bad advantages to carb and efi.  I personally like carb cuz most of my friends are not into cars.  I learn most of my stuff from my uncle and his friends who have cars that are alot older and are all carb.  For me to learn alot mre and to be able to tune it is alot easier for me.  I can have a roller motor with a carb.  Plus I like to have a really nice clean engine bay.  So without having efi I don't have to worry about all of the wiring and what not.  You will be very impressed once I am done with it.  I am glad that I have gotten alot of response from this thread on different veiws.  That's what makes it nice about having this site at our leisure.  Everyone can give there two cents to someone and advice.  :birdsmily:
