Heads, cam, intake.....or 306 info

When I get around to it. I would like to give my 5.0 alittle more go. Just like anyone else does. Mine is an 84 CFI. I know I need a cam with more exhaust duration that intake, and thats about all I know. Im just looking for recomendations. I would like to rebuild to a 306 and any/all info on that would be appreciated too.

How much more go is a little more go in your opinion?  What exactly do you want out of the car?

Good call...

With it being a CFI system you options are limited unless you go carbed or convert to the later SEFI... Guess it would be possible to use either a '84-'85 Mustang or LSC throttle body(with it's correct injectors), EEC and cam to produce the 180hp CFI HO... With headers and free flowing exhaust system you could probably squeeze out 200hp...

As far as I know no one(on here) has performed such a mod on a Bird/Coug.... Be the first on your block!!!!

Some years back on the old Easyboard someone did stick a CFI on a HO, but I don't think it ever ran exactly right... Can't remember what EEC and throttle body he used though...

So he stuck a CFI on an SEFI car or an earlier carbed?

If memory serves me correct, it was a late HO swapped into a '84-'85 Cougar, with the CFI piled on top(reinstalled)...

Maybe someone else has a better memory of it...
