wow mom's never seem to let go.. Reply #15 – February 24, 2007, 10:49:32 AM Quoteand yes karen i know it's three hours long.. i told them i wanted to run on the treadmill with a cigarette in my mouth LMAO! Roger told them the same thing! Well, he said it would be easier with a cig in his mouth. So, how fast did you get going on that thing?Roger was at 5 1/2 mph at a 20% incline before he hit the heart rate that they wanted. :eek:Then they came and told me to never try to outrun him...I said, out run him? Hell, he better run in a zig zag pattern, I'm a better shot than he is! :p :shakeass: Hope all your tests come back good for you Nick....Roger's seem to be ok right now... they'll tell us next week for sure, but the doc he had yesterday said he didn't think there was anything to worry about. Reply #16 – February 27, 2007, 06:58:02 PM next update..well not so much of an update..anywayi went for another ultrasound today and yes i have GUTS!!, a spleen the size of a buick, a liver and some other sutff :D and i got a cat scan today to.. and nope no cats.. i told them if it's a cat they where looking for i have one in the parking lot..:flip: but now form all the radiation i seem to glow in the dark!! i think i can heat up food like a microwave to..on another note they made drink 3oz! last night and another 2 whole 12oz cups of this junk that they said tasted like gatorade.right not even close and i told them that!! so the lady asked what i thought it tasted like i did'nt have the ba!!s to tell the lady that i now know what CAT piss taste like now..tomarrow the stress test..the first time i will have set foot on a treadmill..for real with out screwing around.. i have an idea on how i might be able to get out of it lol i could just tell the doctors to try and take a BAT! to my cougar and they will just see just how much i will get stressed out!! stay tuned!!!Nick Quote Selected

wow mom's never seem to let go.. Reply #18 – February 28, 2007, 02:36:50 PM STRESS TEST? they call that a STRESS TEST! :flip: i get more stressed out when i see my pay check.. anywayto start it off the questionaire the two questions that made me laugh 1 can you walk on a treadmill? sure why not? i guess..2 this was funny as hell.. but hey i guess it's 2007:shakehead ... do you have breats implants? what! hope not!!!so the test starts..first injection of more junk! so they can take some pictures of my chest, lungs and heart before the treadmill test.. and this is done with radiation for about 15 minutes and after the treadmill for another 13 minutes.. from lower chest to jaw was getting very warm!!while this test was in progress. now i know how a hot pocket feels:D so on to the treadmill portion of the test..i stated at about 80 beats per minute and shot up to 121 beats per minute.. the doctor's like you ok? i said yes i can't walk this slow it's like tip toeing.. can you kick it up a notch? he said are you kiding? nope do it.. he said ok! so he jumped it to about 3 MPH and BAM! my heart rate went down.. he was like huh? i told i said i walk fast..all the while i was lieing over the handle bar instead of holding on with my hands. lol so we stayed there for a few minutes. while this is going on "walking/jogging" another doctor is watching the test that was at the other office i was at last week and saw my report and says how meny packs of cigarettes do you smoke a day? i responded up to four! as i'm on the treadmill i said so can you pass me my pack please :D so the doctor say ok you will need to hold on to the bar it's about to go up to 5 MPH i said ok let see what you got! and after he kicked it up i was like thats it? and leaned back over the bar.. finely after a while of me over spining the motor on the treadmill and poping up motor electrical current errors :D to try and get the doctor speed it up i finely hit 154 beats per minute..after the doctor told me by law he could'nt go any faster he did say it was strange that when he kicked it up at first that my heart rate went down.. i said because first i don't walk that slow normaly and when i was young i learned to pace my self real well.. i never liked gym in school and so the gym teacher used to think he or she was punishing me by making me do laps around the gym or field.. lol untill i started doing them backwards the whole class with out stoping :flip: then the teacher would have challenge to see if anyone in the class could out run me in total laps with out stoping for the whole period.. now that was fun :D stay tunedNick Quote Selected

wow mom's never seem to let go.. Reply #23 – March 14, 2007, 10:30:16 PM hell i have quit smoking too many times... i always quit smoking... then i light up my next one lol joking aside. this is why i aint much into medical stuff. im sure ya would have been fine if you didnt know anything about your spleen. i think alot of medical issues arise from a mental stand point of KNOWING about it. or even worrying about it. for example if ya worry your gonna get sick doing something... u tend to get sick often. but this is just how i view things and probably some or alot of you disagree. But i do hope things work out good for you Eric Quote Selected
just about the final update!!! Reply #24 – March 21, 2007, 09:40:22 PM well i got the resolts of my bone marrow test today..and the answer is!!!!Gaucher Disease type 1 and is why my platelets are low and why my spleen is so large..there is no cure but it can be treated. the down side of this is 1, i would have to be treated once every two weeks and maybe once a month as time goes on for the rest of my living life! and 2! it cost about 400G's a year to treat! THATS $400,000.00 A YEAR!:wtf: do i need to break the numbers down for the cost of each treatment and or the total cost if i did live to be about 80 years old..my next step is to see a specialist that deals with this Disease and only this Disease.. to see what my next step will be after that..on another side note my doctor apologized to me today.. why... because he said i had ba!!s to act like i think i'm allways right :D and he said i was! about what? that my belly and spleen was allways like this since i was very young.. he said that it was'nt like he did'nt beleave me but he could'nt see how that was possable untill now.. sometimes i really hate allways being right!:shakehead till next timeNick Quote Selected

wow mom's never seem to let go.. Reply #26 – March 22, 2007, 10:44:31 AM Man...that's messed up, Nick.I didn't know you were Jewish! Personally I was always hoping you just had a massive ringworm. I figured that would explain everything. So I hate to ask this but...does smoking affect the disease at all? Because if you have to give that up... Quote Selected

Because if you have to give that up...no i'm not jewish!and about my smoking Eric why would you hate to ask?i think of you as a close friend.. i've known you a little over 5 years now;) then again i guess not that close! i live about 1200 miles away..i know smoking is'nt good for me at all but don't think it makes a difference..my lungs on the other hand is a different story...like i said i was born with this Disease.. hopefully one day i will be able to quit this smoking habbit.. hopefully before it kills me..unless this Disease or my Spleen kills me first! Billy"mercoug302" made a great coment last night about this..he said it figures that it's not the smoking thats the problem or at least right now it's something else.. being the fact that i sometimes smoke up to 4 packs a day since i was about 22 years old..just thinking about this Disease since it is hereditary.. now i really don't want to have any kids.. i'll pass! i'm ALL SET!Nick Quote Selected
