83 T-bird with c5 tranny

I was looking at my manual today, and according to it, they used the c5 and AOD trannys in 1983,does this sound correct?

I have the c5 because it has no O.D.,would you guys say this is a respectable tranny and would it hold up to a 302 without any problems?................thanks for any input

It sounds right. I thought the 5.0 had to have the AOD though? I have the AOD and it seem to hold up. Never driven a C5 though? If you need an AOD let me know, as I have an extra

Odd for the 5.0 to not have the AOD

He has a V6 with a C5 and he's asking if a 5.0 would be too much for the C5 to handle.
