Well, I haven't left yet. Leaving in a few. Unfortunately I won't be able to bring the car. Although it runs like a raped ape right now I now have a cracked brake rotor and since I don't have the spare cash or time to fix it right now, the car won't be there.

It figures, I was going to unveil it's 'newness'.
Oh well, I'll be coming out tonight and be there for the rest of the weekend.

So has running it like a raped ape made the noise go away?

Just got back from Carlisle! I was only able to go today (part of my birthday present from my wife & kids) because I had to work yesterday. Looked like a lot of people headed home early, like maybe even yesterday! Picked up some odds and ends for the garage, saw Weasle's car (but I didn't see you, Will) and looked like he won an award again! Congrats! Saw an 87 Anniversary Cougar (burgundy) I think with NJ tags, not sure who's it is. Wish I could've been there Saturday!!!

Just got back a few minutes ago myself. CougrrrFiveO, don't thnik I got to meet you.

After all the rain I hit on the way to Carlilse and all the rain on the way back, I'm kind-of glad I didn't have my car. Leather interior with the windows up and no AC isn't fun.

Congrats Will for 1st place '83-'88 Cougar.

I can't believe that woman took the money over the give-a-way Cougar.

Yeah, my kids were booing. They were sure I was gonna win because my B-day is today. Then when they heard her say she wanted the money, they were saying "no fair, she doesn't deserve to win". I kept telling them it was fine and I was just happy to see someone win (and on the first ticket too). But it is kind of a bummer that she didn't appreciate what a nice car that Cougar is because, as she said "it's not a Thunderbird".:beatyoass:

Oh, it was also a little disappointing that "Miss All-Ford Nationals 2007" couldn't make it to the awards, and Bill Miller's wife (I think) had to stand in. I think it should be a requirement that if they partite in the contest, they have to commit to being at the awards.

Exactly, she'll probably buy 5-6 Turbo Coupes with that 5 grand.
It was disappointing that "Miss All-Ford Nationals" couldn't be there. I left before the beauty contest yesterday and wanted to see who won. :(

My group left early...Will told me about the winner of the car taking the cash. It was a nice Cougar...very tough decision. I keep wondering what will happen to the car now.

Anyway...it was an incredible weekend. Thanks to everyone that stopped by to chat with us!
I've got some updates here that you may also want to check out. ;)

I had an interesting weekend. I was about 30 miles south of DC on I-95 when a very unexpected thing occurred.
I was following some rube in a jacked-up F-350 in the left-hand lane. I don't know if he fell asleep or dropped something, but he drifted onto the left shoulder, nearly leaving the lane completely, before jerking the big truck back into track. Before making the correction, the rear tires (very large) kicked up a chunk of tire which went airborne and slapped right into the driver's side mirror of my car. This not only blew the glass out of the housing, but it left an actual skidmark on the housing of the mirror.
I wrote down his license plate number but I strongly doubt I will ever do anything about it. In the short span of the weekend, I was able to buy an MN12 mirror (at Carlisle, of course), paint it, and install it with no problems. Karl was able to remove the skidmark from the old mirror, so I suppose I could swap the guts from the new mirror back into the old.

Otherwise, it was a much-needed trip from what I've been doing.
I was hoping to see a stronger turnout for the Fox Cougars, but at least I was able to meet up with some old friends; that alone made the trip more than worth it.
Cat Jam isn't looking too positive, so I'm glad I made it to Carlisle and enjoyed the weekend.

Hey everyone,  I'm glad to have met some of you guys down at Carlisle this past weekend.  The weather was hot as heck on Saturday but no complaints.  My car drove beautiful on the way out except for when it rained and my rear drag radials didn't like it. lol.... With the 4.10 gears I was still able to cruise comfortably at 70 -75 @2600 -2800 rpm range with no temp problems.... Cruised all the way down and home @ 185 -198 with the AC on..... The only time it creeped over 200 was when I did a brief 120+ mph.......
Anyways, it was a great weekend and congrats to all the winners and hope to see ya again.....
I have a bunch of pictures that I will get up to the site once I get them off the camera.....

It was a great time. Im glad to have met some new faces, and seen many of my old friends. I was downright amazed that the TC performed flawlessly, and even in its rough condition, i threw it on the show field.

The main misfortune is my girlfriend. She has(had) porcalain white skin. She was in a tank top and carpi pants, and every bit of exposed skin is causing her some really bad pain.
It's Gumby's fault.
