Couple pics of the oil cooler install... March 12, 2006, 01:35:32 PM Well, since I had to remove the bumper cover to swap in the TC bumper core so I could mount my fog lghts, I went ahead and got the oil cooler fitted. It was pretty close between the bumper cover and the header panel support brace. I needed to mount it low as the IC will be above it (once I ever get around to building it :hick: ).Now I jus need to pic up the Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate and a couple fittings and that's all done. Couple pics of the oil cooler install... Reply #4 – March 12, 2006, 07:25:32 PM It's actually not as big as you think Nate. Still it is 18"x8"x1.5"...I don't remember the brand as I "acquired" it some time ago. (It was given to me by one of the customers at the shop)..I think it's a Mocal. It's probably a bit big, but it's going to be thermostatically controlled and the next engine going in this car will be bigger....DE- The car is coming along. If it will stop raining here long enough I want to get the carpet back in it so I can get the center console in, and thus finalize the MS wiring. I'll probably have it running sans intercooler at first. Quote Selected

Couple pics of the oil cooler install... Reply #6 – April 05, 2006, 08:51:20 PM Ok, a couple more pics after I got it all plumbed today. The sandwich plate and linesThe sandwich plate is thermostatic...so oil will not flow through the cooler until it reaches 180*. The only bitch is, I guess I have to get it up to temp and then shut it down after the cooler/lines fill up and then top the oil off.....Then a couple of the hose routing.Nothing really exciting, but one more piece is out of the way. :hick: Quote Selected
Couple pics of the oil cooler install... Reply #7 – April 07, 2006, 03:04:15 AM I had an oil cooler setup like that when I first put my new engine in, I ended up taking it off because I didn't need it. Sure looked cool though. That cooler may prove to be overkill...also I'm not totally sure on the effectiveness of those thermostatically controlled sandwich adapters, but that one might be better. It will not open until 180*..There is also hopeful tracktime in the future for this car.....Also remember there is a larger engine going in this thing w/in the next year.... Quote Selected

Flux capacitor?Actually all the new interconnections for the MS harness are Weatherpak connectors (as well as the ones for the fog light install). (The IAT and ECT are GM as well... ....wanted new)I think that is the connection from the TFI module to the coil and ignition power connections, etc. I had it disconnected as I fiddle-fvcked around with the oil lines and sorting the routing out around things.
