I was wondering what my 'Bird might be able to do 0-60 if it had 300 HP and I found this web site http://www.gldomain.com/accelerationcalc/  which seemed to give reasonable numbers.  Just thought is was kinda interesting.  Another estimate I found and simplified is weight divided by two times your HP.  I assumed HP at the flywheel.

0 To 60 time in seconds = weight (lbs)/(2*HP)
5.5 sec.                      = 3300 lbs/(2*300)

This estimate would put the stock 5.0 time at 11 sec.  That seems slow.  The web link came up with 9.1 sec. which sounds better.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I can do 0-60 in 11.5-12 secs.  My car weighs a hair under 3700 w/ my subs, tools and me in it.  This means my 3.8 only has 120 HP at the flywheel.  Thats right on par w/ stock power and it's been bored out, electric fan conversion and V8 tb.  Was that factory number calculated w/ accessories running?  I thought I was closer to 150...

stock si 112 for the 83-87 I think. 120 would be the max. 88 style had 140hp. Stock 5.0 has 150.
