LOL, beat me to it.

Though sometimes I wonder if I would spend that much for one...since I would really like to have a green lense for mine. :(

early 80's ford crown vic and a ltd station wagon... it was hard to find them in my area..... i had to goto a regular junk yard that had been there for ages so i had to pay more than a pick and pull.... but i got it in last night and it looks great.....  i drilled out the rivets on the brackets from my old clock and re-riveted them on the tripminder with a 1/8 rivet from my gun (the smallest i had).... i used a rivet washer on the outside to space it and only had to trim the board inside the tripminder a little to make clearance for the new rivet.....  whoever posted the instructions on coolcats on how to switch them THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!  the only thing i haven't done is to tap the fuel useage line on my eec (i have the eec iii and it was WAY too late for me last night to be screwing with THOSE wires).....

Its easier than on EEC-IV...only 24 wires going to the computer, not 60.  I have my EEC-III wiring diagram somewhere, if you want the wire to tap into, I'll look it up for you.

i finally got my book, but i wouldn't mind a second opinion on which wire it is.....  i'd rather hit the right one then screw up the wrong  :)

Its PIN 15 from the computer.  I lost my EVTM manual but I have a Ford EFI training manual that gave me that info.  Can't believe I misplaced the EVTM manual!

so i'm looking at my vacuum and electrical troubleshooting guide and it shows a white wire(49) coming from the eec at 15 (i guess that's the pin).... will it be the only white wire and how will i know it's #15... will it say so on the eec?

also just to make sure, the eec is behind the passenger kick panel?

Yes its behind the kick panel like EEC-IV cars.

It better be the only white wire, otherwise I'll lose what little respect I had for EEC-III!:flame:

so i guess i truely do have an eec-iii.... it had enough slots for 32 pins and used maybe 20 of them......  i'm glad they were numbered, because the one in the 15 hole was a greyish tan -not white-... i guess the eecer just lost it's last fan  :)..... anyway, it seems to work now because it is giving me fuel flow info (now whether it's right or wrong we'll find out soon enough).....  thanks for the help  :)
