Cougar vs. Fire Truck NEED FRONT CLIP PARTS

I was on my way home from work yesterday(bad weather Trees down, that sortof stuff) and a fire truck decided that they needed to make a U-turn in the middle of a 4 lane road, one of the most used streets in my town. the just turned off of a side street before i got to the intersection. they then move from the middle of the street unsignaled in to the left hand lane then un signaled into the right hand land as if to get on the shoulder which made sense at the time because it looked like it was leaning . at that time i changed in the left hand lane Misssouri Law, yielding to an emergancy vehicle, then they swong across both south lanes and as they were crossing the center line they turned on there lights. i slide and hit the back bumber. They got a broken refector i now have a grill that is as big as the right side of my car.

i need a new header panel light bucketbumber cover radiator
i have an 86

cougar86_89,
Man, sorry to hear about your experience.  I didn't quite follow the chain of events, but I understood the jist of it, that a fire truck's rear bumper can take a whole lot more impact than the front end of one of our cars.  Fire Truck 1, Cougar 0.  Anyway, I think I may have you hooked up on parts.  You said header panel, light bucket (which side?), bumper cover, and radiator, right?  I should have them all, but to be sure I need to know which side light bucket.  I may have either side available (I'm going off of memory).  My parts are from an '84, but as far as I know they're all identical.  I didn't see a grille in your list.  If you need it, too, I believe I've still got you covered.  There might be a slight appearance difference between an '84 grille and an '86, but the fit is still the same.  I'm maybe 3 hours almost due east from you (St. Louis, right?) across I70 to the other side of Illinois (Marshall, IL), so picking up might not be so much of a problem.  Shipping for that many bulky parts would be up there!  Send me a PM about the light bucket and then we can talk $$.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
