The Final Chapter

Ok, so my suspension project is finally coming to a close and I have a few last questions.

The list:
MM LCA's with spring perch and sway bar mounts.
MM C/C Plates

FRPP Cobra A-arms

Eibach springs for V8 SN-95 all four corners

TC rear end
TC sway bars front and back

Kenny Brown SFC's (Thanks Chuck)

So those are the parts I have/ordered. I am planning to have my mechanic install all of these parts as this is my DD and I don't have the time/workplace to do it myself as I will need it done ASAP. I want to swap out to 5-lug preferably from a 99+ Mustang, which I figured was easy enough untill I read Darkthunder's issues with the anti-moan bracket on the TC rear. Is swapping the mustang parts onto the TC rear something that a shop would be against doing since they might have to cut off a bracket, or there would be a mismatch with parts?

Next question. Will I be able to use Mustang struts since I will have the C/C plates? I'll be ordering factory replacement shocks, but the extra performance from Mustang struts would be nice.

And finally would I be fine just keeping my stock UCA's or would I want to find an aftermarket set from an old F-body, or buy the CHE's? I know that the CHE's have tendencies to bind, that is why I went the MM way with the lowers, but unfortunately they don't make uppers for us. I am going to assume that is because our stock uppers do the job fine?

You'll be able to use Mustang struts.

F-bodys don't use UCAs

I think what you're thinking of are the A or B-bodys(?) perhaps. Whatever ones are 10.25" long.

The splayed uppers only do as good a job of locating the rear axle as the rubber bushings will allow them to.

For street use, using a set of poly/performance uppers and keeping the rubber bushings on the axle are ok.

if you have the rear handy (read off the car) you could do the 5-lug swap yourself and have your mechanic install everthing as a unit. but if they have a grinder and a hammer the brackets will come off rather easily. my settings made everything harder than it was.

i'll be getting che uppers myself as someone notched my upper for clearance for the exhaust. talk about your priorities. :rolleyes:
