i took my car up to the previous owners house to show him that i have it running and asked him what exacly it was that was wrong with it when he parked it. he told me that it had something to do with an electrical problem in the distributor that had been a problem on alot of them. so my question is... what distributer pproblems were there on the 84 thunderbirds with the 302 and cfi? and what are the fixes for said problems?

'84 with CFI shouldn't have a duraspark box, but it does have the problematic TFI module.  I do agree with you on the pickup, though.  My '85 with CFI had a bad one of those.

the TFI's are ass, and the distro needs new caps every now and again.

i know mustangs used durasparkII w/carb or CFI  up in till 86 when they went with port fuel injection. I just assumed it had the duraspark system.
