Rear axle length question...

I was going through the sticky, and saw the Turbo Coupe axles are 29.5" long. Is that from the C-clip groove to the , or is that from the end of the axle, to the ?

My 29.5" measurements of the TC and LS axles were from the end of the spline side of the shaft to the inside side of the stud plate. Taking it to the outside of the stud plate would bring it to 29.895

I've seen Mustang axles quoted as being 29.16 long, but no reference as to how they are measured. Do people measure from where the C-clamp snaps in?

But I do know that swapping my TC axle with a Mustang eliminated the 0.5" of axle I had sticking out of the rear axle tube.

Perhaps 29.5-29.16=.34 which maybe can be called a half inch if my measuring was sloppy (which is often the case)
