fuel gauge staying on "full"

Anyone have a problem with the fuel gauge not coming off of "Full" on the digital dash?  I've gone about 55 miles (in town driving) and it hasn't changed.  All info is appreciated.  Thanks.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but the short answer is that either a wire has come off of the sending unit, or the unit itself is dead.

My reasoning:  My T-bird's fuel gague quit working and it stuck on E regardless of the tank's fuel level.  Now, I know for a fact that the buttstuffog (like my car has) and digital (as yours does) operate backwards.  So I'm assuming no signal from the fuel sending unit wire would give you a Full reading at all times.  ThunderChicken?  Anyone want to confirm?

Once in a while when I start mine it will flash "E" when I have less than 13 gallons in it. But as I drive it starts to add fuel like magic. It goes to 2 then 3 then 4 gallons all the way back up to 13:screwy: . Sometimes if it sticks I just kick the bottom of the tank and it works again. Can you tell I really don't want to drop the tank to change the sender :D .

Ok, so I was rolling through town today and the gauge was off of full and showed 20 gallons.  It skipped two.  Last time I filled, it started at full, then 22, then 21, etc.  How big are the tanks in these cars?

Wait you go F, 22, 21? Hmm mine goes F, 20, 19. Where are you getting the 2 extra gallons? BTW I though that they put 21 gallon tanks in these cars.

Well, this is only the second full tank I've put in since I haven't had it all that long.  I'll have to watch after the next fill.
