Long tube headers?

I have an 88 cougar with a 347 and a c4.  I know that shorty headers off of a mustang will fit because that is what i had on it before,  But i was wondering if anyone knew if MUSTANG long tubes and long tube H-PIPE would work. SOME INFO WOULD BE AWESOME.

I have a set of longtubes (appear to be flowtechs but i am uncertain) on my 302/C4 with the 164T bellhousing and they clear just fine. I don't have the matching h-pipe yet but i don't see why it wouldn't fit.

Why use stock H pipe when you have 347?

they fit fine, only thing you have to watch out for is if you need to remove them and put em back on, sometimes the macs warp. and where the steering shaft goes threw the tubes, sometimes under load the engine rocks and could contact the rag joint or something, locking up the steering. i had to make some adjustments with my macs, and i have heard of other people makeing minor adjustments to theirs. 351 headers will be different tho, but should still work. just make sure if you have any starter problems you replace it now before the LT's and maybe get a heat shield for it to. its not going to be fun replacing the starter after you put in the LT's. also i have a hpipe for a mustang on my car. mac LT's and mac off road h pipe. and now to pass emmisions i have another mac catted h pipe.
