Now THAT'S an Expensive Exhaust!!!!! November 26, 2005, 02:53:30 PM Yesterday I helped a friend install a new exhaust in his truck. The truck is a 2005 F-250 Crew Cab with the 6.0 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel. Nice setup, but the price:shoothead OMG!Here's the link:http://www.mbrp.com/products.php?S6214304He's already chipped the truck and the bigger aftermarket turbo goes on next week. I'll see if I can snap off some pics when that happens. Quote Selected

Now THAT'S an Expensive Exhaust!!!!! Reply #2 – November 26, 2005, 06:08:17 PM Good lord! I think I'd just buy one of those $400 4" systems Summit sells and be done with it!Speaking of expensive exhaust, you ever seen how much Corsa cat-backs are? One of their cat-backs for the C6 vette is around $1200. That's just stupid. Quote Selected

Now THAT'S an Expensive Exhaust!!!!! Reply #4 – November 27, 2005, 11:32:37 AM Keep in mind though you're talking about an exhaust that goes from the turbo all the way back and on truck, that's A LOT of piping. Plus it's all SS. $1400+ sounds like a lot of money but also considering the fact it's made for vehicle that they aren't gonna sell boatloads of kits for is gonna have an affect on the price so the company can make their money in R&D back on it. You look at a Mustang kit for example that's SS from the H-Pipe back and you'll easily spend $1000 on that with a catted H-pipe....and I don't think I'd be stretching it by assuming Mustang kits probably outsell that kit by at least 20:1. My ATR catback/Mac H-Pipe exhaust on my Bird cost me $1000 US. Quote Selected
Now THAT'S an Expensive Exhaust!!!!! Reply #5 – November 27, 2005, 03:49:15 PM You also have to remember guys, this is going on $35k-$45k trucks. I dont know about ya'll, but if I was spending that type of money on something Id want it to be a quality piece. Hell, the catback system on my 05 F150 was pretty expensive, but to me its worth if 1.)Its the sound your looking for and 2.)Its a quality piece that you wont have to replace in the near future. Now THAT'S an Expensive Exhaust!!!!! Reply #6 – November 27, 2005, 06:32:20 PM Believe me this is a top notch setup. He had actually thought about the system from Bully Dog which was also nice ( and entirely polished to boot), but required a lot of cutting. This kit requires only one cut (it depends on what size bed/cab the truck has).Like Chrome said on an expensive/newer vehicle most people want something that works, will last a long tim, and looks good! It's just a shame that EVERY aftermarket part made for the Ford modular engine system (whether car or truck) costs a lot more than anything for any pushrod motor. Quote Selected
