Strange sound under the hood - thermactor pump?

Hello!
I had a problem with thermal fan clutch in my T-bird as the bearing was shot and it was rotating at the engine speed (completly locked) making a lot of noise and affecting on engine performance.
Yesterday I got a package from US with new fan clutch and belt pulley. I've replaced both parts and took my T-bird for a ride. What an improvement in performance and no more fan sound! But I noticed another strange sound now. I think it's a thermactor pump, but I'm not sure.
Please listen to the mp3 file with recorded engine sound while revving up 3 times: http://www.americangranada.com/pics/engine_sound.mp3
I thought that maybe the new fan clutch is making that noise, so I took it out and ran the engine without it for a short while. The strange sound was still there! :(
I know it's a strange idea to record engine sound for diagnosis, but I hate to visit car shops.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Mariusz...

Strange sound under the hood - thermactor pump?

It does sound a little like the thermactor pump or the diverter valve in the thermactor system.  You might be able to pinpoint the source of the sound with a makeshift stethoscope.  Get a piece of rubber hose (fuel hose, garden hose, etc.) and hold one end in your ear while you move the other end around in the engine compartment near those parts.  It will get louder when you find the source.
