power to non power locks

can you take out the actuators(sp?) and replace the rods with longer ones to get rid of the power locks or is there more to it?

Disconnecting where the door lock actuator rod hooks up to the rest of the system (the top part of the rod) bypasses the actuator.

You can remove the actuator to clean up the door insides / weight savings, but once you disconnect the rod...the actuator does nothing.

not to mention that disconnecting/removing the actuators will make it a lot easier to turn the key in the lock

Both actuators in my 'Bird locked up so I just unhooked them. You wont need longer rods or anything.

Hell why would you want to get rid of the power door locks? If your actuators are messed up just get you out of a salvage yard. Mine our out of a 79 T-bird I just had to use the metal rod out of mine. Its been 4 years an no problems.
