Confused November 05, 2005, 04:50:16 PM I was looking around online checking out c6 transmissions, and couldn't find any definite print that said whether or not it is an auto or manual transmission. So I come here humbly and ask: Which is it? Does it come in both? Confused, please help.Thanks,PaulP.S. Tranny's are a bit of my weak spot and could use some research if anyone has any links or could point me in the right direction to really good tech articles, etc. etc. I'd much appreciate it. Confused Reply #1 – November 05, 2005, 05:25:26 PM C-4/C-5/C-6 are 3-speed autos. T-5 is a 5-speed manual. Quote Selected
Confused Reply #2 – November 05, 2005, 05:45:51 PM Excellent, so it is basically what I am looking for. They are meant for high HP/TQ applications correct? And there is also a bolt on overdrive component for them as well, but that does run a little on the pricey side. Quote Selected

Confused Reply #5 – November 05, 2005, 07:01:04 PM You'll have fun fitting a C6 into a Fox car, if that's your plan. C6's are enormous... Quote Selected

Confused Reply #9 – November 05, 2005, 08:03:25 PM iv heard people fit c4s and c6s into fox cars, but most were c4s. you might be able to get a bullit proof AOD for the price of installing a c4 and modding it tho. even maybe a e4od Quote Selected

Confused Reply #13 – November 09, 2005, 09:43:32 AM IIRC, there is a small-block C6 and a big-block version. Wasn't there also a big-block C4 available?For these cars the C4 is lighter, very strong and more managable. Quote Selected
Confused Reply #14 – November 09, 2005, 12:31:59 PM Hmm well thank you all for the input, it's help immensly and is a good platform to take off from. I'll do some more research on C6 vs C4, but I might wind up going with the 6 because of the overdrive add-on, as this will be my DD as well for a while. Quote Selected
