5.0 Pregunta November 11, 2005, 05:23:11 AM So I was reading though an issue of Power&Performance that I picked up and there are these new cams by Comp. Cams called Ford XFI cams, but they are for the 5.0 stroker. So my question is as follows: Are all 5.0's technically 5.0 Strokers, or is it a 4.6 stroked up to a 5.0, or something like that? What I am basically getting at is: Will they work on a regular 5.0?Thanks,Paul Quote Selected
5.0 Pregunta Reply #1 – November 11, 2005, 05:34:12 AM "Stroking an engine is basically increasing the engine’s stroke length by converting over to a longer stroke crank. Take for instance the 302 Ford. A very popular conversion is to go to a 347. The factory stroke of the crankshaft is 3.0 inches to make it become a 347 the stroke is extended to 3.40 inches in length. You need to utilize a different length connecting rod also. Engine Factory can supply you a stroker with proper machining , balancing and notching of the block to make it trouble free. The nice thing about this set-up is that all the modifications are done internally so your mounting patterns and accessories will all be identical ."I am guessing it is a 4.6 sohc Quote Selected

It's rather pricey........http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=8022http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2003/11/cammer/index.shtmlhttp://www.jwfisher.com/sec-ford/FMC-engines/8m50d-cammer/default.htm Quote Selected
