Two Accidents in 4 days...

Today i was driving the old cougar, at nearly 10 am, and i was driving normally, an at a right turn, two assholes in a moped tried to pass me at the right side before i turn, but they wont were enough fast and they hit my car. Obviously, these guys were the most affected, their bodies roll two metters at least and the moped was damaged. My car, well, the right front fender was damaged, little a part of the front, and the chrome plastic part that rounds the lights were destroyed. The Police said that wasnt my fault, all my documents were in order and i only payed the primary injuries of the two guys and the fine for my car. Really, my dad and i accepted to pay the injuries for the guys because our own morals. We didnt payed their fines (that were higher than ours, they were driving without helmet, without license, and two guys in a one-person motorcycle is illegal....add that to their fine at the police station)
and the moped reparation....

I´ll post pics soon...

Sorry to hear about that. Atleast it wasn't your fault.

How does the system work in Mexico with any type of insurance? Will the moped guys be paying to fix your car?

I'm not trying to be stupid, I'm just oblivious to how things work in other countries.

Nope, nobody will pay the reprations of my car and of the moped. There was a "fix" for both parts. We only payed the injuries and our own fine (total of 65 USD).

In 95% of the cases in the "Motorcycle vs Car accident" the car is relatively guilty, but in my case were very obvius the fault of the moped driver....

My car is fixable and drivable, only estetic work is needed, but i dont have any money being and student and having some payments.  I am smelling a premature ending having this cat...

I'm not understanding this "fine" you paid - if you weren't at fault, why were you fined? Do they automatically fine you for an accident there, regardless of fault?

Oh, and I've got you beat. I had three accidents in three days with my first Thunderbird.

Day one: A pizza delivery guy decides to do a U-turn in front of me in a snowstorm. I nailed him, then he tried to say it was my fault because all for of his wheels were on the pavement. I'm not sure of his logic there, but as soon as  i said the police were gonna decide he abandoned that argument and gave me a slice of pizza and $200 for a new fender (the car was old, it was in hard shape).

Day two: Backing out of my employer's parking lot in the same, ongoing snowstorm, I failed to see that one of the salesmen parked his Saturn wagon demo directly behind me (my rear defogger having long since before suffered the typical wire separating from the glass). T-Bird: 1. Saturn: 0. I put a big hole in the so-called "Dent resistant" door panel. The boss ended up putting it through warranty as a "stress crack" in the plastic.

Day three: Same Saturn dealership, I was driving into the lot, having just arrived for the day's shift. The lot guy was backing a car up, so I stopped. He kept coming. I honked the horn. He kept coming. CRUNCH. Saturn: 1. T-Bird: 0. He stuffed the Saturn's bumper cover, which was apparently more durable than the door panel on the other one, into my car. Same fender the pizza guy dented so I didn't care about that, but it broke the headlight bezel and corner lamp. The boss called us even for the door I broke.
