cute... TPI 350's...shame that stock for stock, the  TPI 350 could outrun a 5.0 stang, and when a T5 is swapped in, T5 stang and T5 TPI 350...bye bye stang
It's Gumby's fault.

Not likley,302s being a smaller cid motor were way better than that chevy ,look at the 305.
Bigger cube,lower hp output,pure junk.
If you have to compare a chev 350 just to keep up to a 302 then i feel sorry for ya!
Then if you really wanna go there,do the 347,again smaller displacement, and the tpi 350 chev will lose hardcore!

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

No..I was going to say bypass the carbed set-up and do a tuneable EFI.  I think you'll get better use and driveability out of that regardless of what you put under it....

I don't care whether you do 331 or 351....they're both V8's  :yuck:  :D  :hick:

if you want to get technical, the LB9 (305 TPI) has equvalent HP to the 5.0 HO, put a 5-speed behind it, low and behold, youre outrunning mustangs

my friend with similar bolt ons to most stangs, CAI, headers back exhaust, roller rockers, and an adjustable FPR was running 14.3x's, with the swaybar, he's now got a 5-speed in the car

but yeah, no matter what, a chevy 305 is slow, even the ones you see running 400hp in oval track cars, those are slow too

I have yet to see a 305 camaro/firebird outrun any 5.0l mustang,auto or stick,just not gonna happen.
They were complete dogs and would be hardcore outrun by my 5.0L HO AOD bird any day of the week.

Shawn, you're wrong.  Ford > Chevy no matter what.

well i guess you dont come around here often enough, theres one up the street that shouldnt have too much problem outruning most 5.0 cars that are relatively stock (stock heads/cam/intake)

how often do you see a 305 car do that?

:rollin: Yeah, who can argue with that logic.

Anyway, I'd love to take up the Chevy torch with you, Shawn, but the 305 was always a dog. A black spot on the history of the SBC. The 350 is another story, though. *blesses shrine*

347 in a heart beat. if your spending the money on the 331 build a 347. 302 based parts are cheap compared to 351 parts. oil control is an issue of the past.
