Part number help

I'm looking for the part number for the temperature sensor that goes in the heater core lines on EATC equipped cars. From what I can find the middle portion of the number is 10b843. I've tried just about every combination I can think of to find the original part number but I've come up empty-handed so far. A photo of the diagram of the switching question should be attached to this post. Thanks for looking.

Paul, have you removed it? Need to see what the end looks like that sticks down into the heater tube.

I'm also not finding much with that main part number. It might have been superseded along the way.

It was. I found the part number.

E5SZ-18D371-A.

Revisions with B or C in place of the A are compatible. No one makes an aftermarket version of this. The one they used in the Bill Blass and base model Mark VII has a different connector. You can actually find that on Rockauto as of my posting this.

The Cougar/T-Bird/LSC one? Hunt. Hunt junkyards, hunt Ebay, hunt here, hunt other forums. It's not an absolutely necessary piece to keep the EATC working, but it's noce to have for when it IS cold out so you don't get air blasting on you from the heater before it's actually warm.

I have 3 cars with the EATC system now so I'm trying to stock up on spare parts. I haven't removed it as they are all working for me. Attached is a picture of one.

OK, that explains it. I did see that type of sensor when searching and thought maybe the Mark VII one would work. So you have the round connector vs. the Mark VII/Continental rectangular connector, is that what you're saying?

It's not even round vs square.

Left is the base/Bill Blass Mark VII.

Right is the LSC/Cougar/Thunderbird part. I don't know the exact differences of the parts and whether or not they actually read the coolant temperature the same way. I have to dig in my shop manuals.

Gotcha. How about E5SZ-8B607-A, would that work? Looks identical...there's one on eBay and it's affordable.

I'll keep my eyes open for ya.
