Hood clearance and the EFI 351W / 5.8L July 15, 2005, 01:35:01 AM I've searched a good bit to confirm if an EFI 351W will fit under the stock hood of a Fox Tbird. I'd rather put a 302 stroker in if it won't. (Me likey the sleeper look) To the point, do all aftermarket intakes fit? Some earlier comments...Mercoug302 4-14-02 http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showpost.php?p=1294&postcount=7MDJ1281 7-13-02 http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showpost.php?p=5770&postcount=10 Mercoug302 8-9-02 http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showpost.php?p=8043&postcount=3 Mercoug302 8-10-02 http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showpost.php?p=8071&postcount=7 Mercoug302 2-24-03 http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showpost.php?p=31677&postcount=10Thunder Chicken 11-16-04 http://www.cougarnuts.com/board/showpost.php?p=102861&postcount=4 SirChirpAlot 2-24-05 http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=15668&postcount=9TurboCoupe50 1-15-05 http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=24053&postcount=3 87fox351 5-25-05 http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=29995&postcount=11Charles Crooks 7-12-05 http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showpost.php?p=36038&postcount=3Mercoug302 has a 351W with a GT40 lower and Edelbrock upper in his Cougar, but said he had solid motor mounts and removed the hood blanket. Mercoug302 later goes on to say stock motor mounts will work...Thunder Chicken says a cowl is required.SirChirpAlot says hood clearance might be an issue.87fox351 has a 351 with Edelbrock Victory Jr. intake (modified carb. intake)How many people actually have an EFI 351W in their Foxes? Re: Hood clearance and the EFI 351W / 5.8L Reply #1 – July 15, 2005, 09:01:57 AM I've seen Mercoug302's car....it fits fine. Even with regular mounts it will work. Now if we were talking Mustangs, the cowl's a bit lower in those cars and a cowl hood would be necessary. A 5.0 sits lower in our cars, in relation to the cowl, and even an EFI 351W fits beautifully. No issues that I can see. Quote Selected

Theres a guy down here with a 351 stroked to 408 under the stock hood :) and its fuel injection and blown  Quote Selected
