symptoms of
fuel pump putting out low volume
fuel injectors clogged up
fuel filter clogged up
weak spark (check this at night with a spare spark plug from any cylinder plug wire with the threads of the plug bonded to chassis ground)
~~spark needs to be blueish white,,, anything else is weak spark which points to the dizzy TFI or the pick up module down inside.

pull your codes with a paper clip and if you have one, a 12v buzzer.

Well I haven't run codes on car yet I have a few months ago but I don't remember them I can tell u that car runs good with hammer down but it is eye burning rich and idles funny sometimes up and down sometimes it sounds like popping threw exhaust
kind off erratic. This has been replaced since I have on it. Idle air sens TPS fuel pump and pressure regulator ATC and temp sens fuel filter I think I need to replace egr sens

You really need to pull the codes and post them. My knowledge is limited on the TC's but if there is a mass air meter (cannot remember if the 87-88 cars had this or not) try cleaning the MAF elements.  If there is a MAF and you do not know how to clean the elements post back up.

id pull the iac and clean it or see if it needs to be replaced. does it want to stall sitting at idle and suddenly turning on the ac or turning the wheel?

Thanks for replies. My TC I had cleaned the maf didn't make much difference I have codes posted on another thread and my 88 tbird sport
I have replaced IAC and yes it does sometimes stalls while idling my biggest problem is major hesitation when give it throttle u get off and get on its like engine just shut off then it just comes n hard I've changed a lot of parts on this car I have ran codes and one was egr and it does work but if u hook up vacuum sometimes  car acts stupid figure that is probably one problems
