Finally on my journey to Texas/MISSION COMPLETED :D

As the title states I have finally left to go to Texas. What would not fit in my jeep is tucked away in storage as it is the T-Bird. The T-Bird is patiently and safely tucked away in its own storage unit waiting for my return to retrieve her.

Abilene. Vinnie, I would've liked to stop in Oklahoma City to meet up with you for a visit but I had only been running on a couple hours sleep, and honestly I didn't think about it until after I passed through. :-( I am almost to the Texas line on  highway 277.

Vinnie, Had I not had my head up my rear, and not had all the delays  :shoothead, I could've let you know ahead of time and ran down that way. But maybe the next time I'm going thru the area, hopefully with my bird in tow, I'll be able to stop. I was averaging around 16 (because of the load on the roof) to begin with but when I hit the Oklahoma line, mileage took a :toilet: down to 13 for the rest of the trip because of the wind. I made it to Abilene around 6:30 ish. Sooooo glad for this journey to be over!!

That's cool. Might just have to take a little drive         You ever come to the drag strip down here?

Glad you made it safely. In September, I'm planning on meeting up with another Bird owner at Texas Motor Speedway for a charity event. You pay a fee, get to run around the track a couple of times behind a pace car, and have a pic taken in the winner's circle with your car. Money goes to children's charitys. Maybe you can go.

I have not been to the 1/8th mile track there but it looks like a nice facility. We have both a 1/4 mile and a 1/8 mile track here, so I don't really go to other tracks that much. I will be trailering the bird to the TF 2.3T race October 11th in Tulsa though.

Thanks Vinnie, That charity event sounds like a good time. PM me the info and I'll try to talk the wife into letting me take the Jeep.

My wife has some co-workers that have family that races here, I haven't met them yet....
