has anyone ever attempted and/or successfully put one of these into a Fox T-Bird or Cougar? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Lincoln-Town-Car-Climate-Control-Switch-Assembly-and-Rear-Defogger-/271432278897?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f329fe371&vxp=mtr

Looks like the same panel with numbers on it.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Yeah, but the bottom position on the fan switch is Auto, that's what makes it automatic.

Time to find a Town Car EVTM and compare notes.... I would imagine that there is at the very least another wire in that blower motor system.  Probably a different blower motor resistor as well.

lol, right? My thinking is that this would be a lot easier to install than the optional fully electronic one. I know on other cars, going from manual to full electronic is a MAJOR ordeal, if it's even possible at all.

As someone who's tried and failed to go from the EATC to manual HVAC controls, with very unsatisfactory results...well, I wouldn't count on anything. Of course, I'm too stupid to understand an evtm, so I said hell with it. I've got my eye on a rust free 3.8 Tbird. I'll be giving the owner a yell this week. If the price is right, bye bye Sport and here comes the next project.

If someone has that EVTM, please scan those heater wiring diagrams. I have this semi automatic control panel too (from burnt Crown Victoria). I can build a blower motor controller, if needed.
