Rebuilding my 5.0

I'd first decide what power you want. 250 horses? 300? 500? 10,000?
The transmission will be the next logical step. Might as well figure on having it rebuilt if you're going to be at the 300 pony mark, or more, or if it's got a shiznit-ton of mileage, or is already giving problems, etc.
Then the rear diff. and the IRS stuff. I have no clue on upgrades to that, but the supercoupe forum would surely have that info.
The rest is common sense stuff, bigger brakes, sub frame connectors, good tires, maybe some lowering springs and a SC front bumper for a little more aero cleanliness.
I will just say here now, that the block (stock block, anyway) will be the limiting factor, assuming you have or are going to beef up the trans and rear. The blocks tend to want to split and come apart around the 500-600 horsepower level.
It's not a matter of if you split a 5.0 block, but when.
Put a TFS1 cam in, P heads, cobra or explorer intake, 1-5/8" headers and dual exhaust at least 2.5' in diameter, and you'll hit close to if not at or even over 300 horse. Will likely need a tune if you start adding N2O, or forced induction.
Those cars are heavier than the Fox 'Birds we're used to here, but all the same, a well put together 5.0 will speed it up a ed good bit.
