confirmation on factory exhaust pre-cats

pls confirm if there is anytthing at all inside the precats

the last time i brought this up it was 50/50 who said yes there is an obstruction inside the pre-cats.

on my old 3.8L, my 5.8L and my 5.0L, after gutting the CAT, i ran a wire up inside the exhaust and ran into no obstruction all the way up to through the header.

anyone?

my 88 Sport was hollow (brother said he gutted them when he had it, IDK for sure). My buddy had an 87 and there was definitely honeycomb in them. He put my Y pipe on his after I swapped to an H pipe and we sold all three cats out of his Y pipe
Currently Birdless but never Foxless

I've been told by a ler shop that they are resignators(sp?)

master ler charged me for three cats when I told them I had to pass on my old 86 and said all three were gummed up, so i don't know.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
