I guarantee many have the thought process similar to "I could spend that or a little less/little more and have the exact motor I want and know I put it together blah blah" At least that's what I think hypothetically when I look at the situation from the perspective of the seller is simply a stranger and one may be rolling the dice. Almost everyone has their own special buddy or trusted source for machine work (assembly if they're not into assembling the engine themselves...a little more shockingly commonplace than I woulda guessed) and if "good ol' bob over in winchestertonfieldville" didn't do the machining it's obviously junk. LOL
That said IMO it's a good deal considering what all of the parts cost. If it were me buying it I guess I'd want to see pictures of bearings uncapped and maybe cylinder walls if a camera could be angled properly to see that, and at that point I'd only worry about the thing having been overheated and the heads warped. That all seen, if say rings never seated properly...I'd yank it apart check top and bottom end over, and re-ring it. If say the cam/lifters/timing set were somehow busted, the cost of that would be worth the savings of the whole deal.
