stalling problem:disappoin June 06, 2005, 08:36:16 AM :disappoin I have an '88 cougar with a 5.0 and 150k miles on it, here recently i been having a problem with it stalling on me. It works fine until it starts to rise in temp and then it starts to stall, i can drive about 50 yards each time and then it starts to stall, i'm thinking that it it might be on of the many temp sensors, but not sure which one to sart with, and it doesnt matter if i have the heat on full blast or have it on full cold with or with out a/c on.PLEASE HELPRyan :disappoin Quote Selected

The one thing that i did notice is that be the time i got to work which was about 5 miles of stalling and restarting is that i had steam comming out of the vents in the dash. Quote Selected

Re: stalling problem:disappoin Reply #5 – June 06, 2005, 01:12:15 PM Steam out the dash vents suggests heater core is bad. This may or may not be realated to the stalling issue. You are probably loosing coolant though. I'd check the level in the radiator, and fill if its low. To get a better idea of why its stalling pull the codes. Might be TFI, coolant sensor, or ACT sensor. May be something else too, gotta pull the codes to know Quote Selected
